FTP help for updating Enfold.

I am not familiar with how to use FTP or filezilla. I downloaded it, but how do I know what to do next? Do I use my godaddy info? That makes connection but then times out. I really want to just go through Word Press, but that tells me that there is already an Enfold destination folder. Can I delete my current Enfold to upload the new? really need some assistance here. Many threads get answered in minutes while others wait and wait. Is anyone there?
