Hello,
I’m building a website with a frontend publisher. I chose, for various reasons, Frontend Publisher Pro (on code canyon). Everything works fine, apart from the insert media object button, that doesn’t do anything when clicked. It is only when changing theme that the button works. Any idea what could cause the problem ? It seems it is something that’s happening for others too (see https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-blocks-the-insert-media-objects-button-for-edits-from-the-frontend/).
I’ll give you in private the necessary info to access the website.March 12, 2021 at 10:35 pm #1287888Oh, and the same thing seems to be happening for the file manager I also use on this site, that has a frontend uploader… See link and explanations in private.
Thanks for your help !
March 13, 2021 at 2:26 pm #1287985Hi JaimBateman,
I am afraid you’ll need to contact the plugin author for more info about the issue. Making third-party plugins compatible with the theme is unfortunately beyond the support scope we offer. Sorry for that!

VictoriaMarch 13, 2021 at 5:55 pm #1288039I will, but that makes it two plugins that have a similar problem just because of enfold (Frontend publishing pro and wordpress download manager). Changing theme does solve the problem. Is there anything you could tell me that would help narrow it down ? I would really like to keep using enfold… For example, which scripts in enfold might be lnked to that ? That might help me with the plugins’ authors.
Thanks !
March 17, 2021 at 11:52 am #1288699Hi,
Thanks for the update, and sorry for the late reply. I tried out the form on the page in private, and it seems to be working fine on my end. Did you manage to find a solution for the problem? If not, then please let us know how we can reproduce the problem on our end.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 17, 2021 at 12:04 pm #1288709Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to test this. Sadly, it works because I changed theme (the project is urgent, so I just went ahead). But I’m still very much interested in finding a solution to the problem for future websites ; I’ll duplicate the site and give you the new url, so you can switch back to enfold and analyse the problem.March 17, 2021 at 2:27 pm #1288728Okay, the duplicate website is up. I’ve switched back to Enfold already. I’ll give you the url in private.
Thanks for your help !
March 17, 2021 at 3:50 pm #1288741Oups, in the previous message, one of the adress was still for the original site. The correct one is in private.
March 21, 2021 at 7:43 am #1289387Hi,
Thanks for the update, and for the test site. I do see the same problem as you are describing on my end as well. I can’t see any error messages which would indicate what the problem might be unfortunately. Did you try to disable all plugins except the front end publisher, to see if there might be a conflict with any of the other plugins?

RikardMarch 21, 2021 at 8:57 pm #1289491Hi,
Thanks for your help. Deactivating plugins is one of the first thing I did, without success (you can try too). And same as you, I don’t see any error messages that could point toxards where the problem is… Maybe a JQuery version ? I tried to deactivate JMigrate in Enfold, but that didn’t change anything either. Maybe both Enfold and the plugins (the problem is with the frontend post publishing and the frontend document publishing) define similar functions for frontend media library management ? I have to say I have no idea…Best !
March 25, 2021 at 4:54 am #1290274Hi,
Thanks for the update. Would you be able to send the plugin in question to us, so that we can try it out on a test installation? If you send us FTP details, then we can download it ourselves. If we can reproduce the problem on the test installation, then we’ll try to find a solution for it. Please note that finding a solution might not be very quick, since we have to prioritise development of the theme core.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 25, 2021 at 11:48 am #1290348The simplest is probably to give you FTP details (see private), but careful, there’s a lot going on there :)
And I’m not worried about the time it takes ; as I said, for the current project, I switched themes, but I would rather avod that for future ones. Thanks !
March 29, 2021 at 9:21 am #1291034Hi,
Thanks for that. I’ve been able to reproduce the problem on a test installation, and I’ve passed the problem onto our developers. I can’t say when, or if, they come up with a solution for this unfortunately.

RikardMarch 29, 2021 at 9:53 am #1291046Hi,
Thanks. I’ll be keeping an eye out on this one. I hope you find a solution, because for most clients, giving access to the backend is a bad idea… So frontend interactions are a must.Cheers, and thanks again for your help !
March 30, 2021 at 3:32 pm #1291382Hi,
Please check your theme settings:
Theme Options -> Performance -> Disable Features -> Self hosted videos and audio features (WP-Mediaelement scripts)
and select “Always load media features”.
Then it should work.
