Hello,
I’ve done a fresh and updated installation of Enfold, WordPress (WP) and running PHP 7.4 I believe.
When I edit the Front Page in WP the changes don’t show on the public page right away. Eventually they show up, but it can take up to an hour. I’ve gone through all the cacheing items (Browser etc.) and still the same. I don’t use any caching plugins.
All of the other site pages though seem to show updates right away. It is just the Front page.
When I am logged into WP and open another window the black WP bar shows across the top for all pages except the Front page.
Many thanks, any help would be appreciated.
Paul
May 27, 2021 at 4:04 pm #1302684Hey Paul,
Thanks for contacting us!
That definitely sounds like a cache related issue. You may have cache enabled on the server side. Please check if that is the case :)
Best regards,
YigitMay 27, 2021 at 6:08 pm #1302700Thank you.
I checked with the host and they said there is ‘some’ server side caching so we disabled it and the same issue persists.
It seems odd that it is only the home page that won’t update, or show that we are logged in to WP. All the other site pages are fine.
Any other thoughts would be a great help.
Many thanks, Paul
May 28, 2021 at 3:28 pm #1302858Hi Paul,
Could you please create temporary admin logins and post them here privately so we can look into it? :)
Best regards,
YigitMay 28, 2021 at 5:30 pm #1302868Hi Yigit,
Absolutely. The issue still persists today as was just checking.
I said earlier all the other pages (when logged in) show they are logged in with the black WP bar at the top except for the front page. And all the others update and display immediately. It really seems isolated to the front page??
Anyhow, really looking forward to hear what you think. Hopefully you can see something in there causing this.
Many thanks for taking a look.
Sincerely,
Paul
May 28, 2021 at 6:31 pm #1302875Hi Yigit,
Further to my previous message. I was going through all the pages and found some in addition to the Front page that are doing the same. But the Front page seems to always have this behaviour.
Many thanks,
Paul
June 1, 2021 at 6:22 am #1303328Hi,
The WP admin bar displays back in the front page when we deactivate the plugins. Please try to deactivate the plugins one at a time to find the extension that is causing the issue.
This is how the front page looked when we deactivated the plugins.

We also set the front or home page in the Enfold > Theme Options and reset the Settings > Reading panel to default.

IsmaelJune 2, 2021 at 6:18 am #1303502Hello,
I disabled all of the plug ins then enabled one at a time checking and the same, no log in showing. After about 15 minutes it showed then after a while disappeared. It seems very intermittent.
It just seems the changes I make in WordPress are not getting through to display outside of random results ……..
WP Settings > Reading should not be set to Home page?
Any further help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Paul
June 3, 2021 at 1:10 pm #1303762Hi,
Do you see the admin bar consistently when the plugins are deactivated? You should also try to check the site on incognito mode to actually view an uncached page.
Yes, the home page should be set in the Enfold > Theme Options.

I know home page should be set in the Enfold > Theme Options and it was right from the beginning,
You do not have to adjust the Settings > Reading panel. Setting the home page in the theme options should be enough.
Unfortunately, we are not sure why you do not see the changes on your end. It seems to work fine on ours as long as the plugins are deactivated. Do you hard refresh or remove the browser cache every time you check the page?
You might also want to deactivate any browser extensions temporarily.

When I edit the Front Page in WP the changes
Could you give us an example of the changes that you are doing to the page that is not showing immediately? We would like to try to do it on our end.

IsmaelJune 13, 2021 at 5:18 am #1305445It doesn’t matter what the changes are. When I am logged in sometimes the other browser window shows the Admin bar and sometimes it doesn’t, it just seems random. The actual changes being made are irrelevant. If the 2nd browser shows I am not logged in any changes publish, but will not show to the public until it decides to show the admin bar again. When this is the case I simply make my changes and move on knowing they will eventually display to the public …
June 15, 2021 at 7:48 am #1305728Hi,
How do you know that the changes are not visible to the “public”? Have you tried checking the site on incognito mode after making any changes?
We temporarily disabled the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings to make sure that any changes to the stylesheets are visible to the page. To test it, we added this css code in the Quick CSS field and see if the changes will be immediately visible in the home page.
#footer { display: none; }
The css code above hid the footer container immediately after refreshing the page, but we had to make sure that the cache is disabled. We also did a hard refresh. We then removed the css code again and the changes reflected immediately, the footer container displayed back.

IsmaelJune 16, 2021 at 4:17 pm #1306065Hi Ismael,
I know the changes are not visible to the public because they appear to publish inside WordPress. Then viewing on my Internet connection they can’t be seen, I instantly check on my phone (separate provider) and call colleagues elsewhere to check and they still don’t show.
BUT – here is the point I think is getting missed here. This is not ALL the time. Sometimes when I log in and open another browser the Admin bar is there – when I make a publish it appears to the public instantly. THEN with no notice or logic the ADMIN bar in the separate browser will disappear and if I publish changes at that point they don’t show instantly. They will show when the bar comes back, usually within 10-20 minutes.
And sometimes when I log in and check a separate browser page the ADMIN bar is NOT there at first. Then at some point, again maybe 10-20 minutes it appears. When it is not there I can still publish inside WordPress, but until that ADMIN bar re-appears the changes don’t show.
This on again off again is random so far as I can tell. It has been a month and I don’t know what causes it. BUT I have ruled out internet connection as it happens regardless of using different connections. Webhost says no cacheing going on, I don’t use Cache plugins and it still happens when all plugins are disabled ……….
It began with a new installation of fresh versions of WP and Enfold again about a month ago.
What do you think?
And thank you for your continued help.
Paul
June 19, 2021 at 12:49 am #1306453If I switch to another theme for testing will I lose all of the Enfold settings I have made when I switch back to Enfold?
Many thanks,
Paul
June 22, 2021 at 10:58 am #1306906Hi,
The theme options should stay intact when you switch to a different theme and go back. But all the same, you should still create a site backup or a restore point just in case.
The issue does not exist on most Enfold installations and on our own server, so this is likely not an issue with the theme. We have not encounter other reports or threads describing the same issue that have not been resolved by disabling the cache, which seems to be the issue based on your description.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 23, 2021 at 5:17 pm #1307187Hi Ismael,
Ok. I will continue troubleshooting with the host and elsewhere. Thank you for the help and excellent support you provided. I continue to love and use Enfold. There is no issue there. At least I can rule that out and hopefully find out what the problem is soon.
Again thank you,
Paul
