May 6, 2015 at 9:27 pm #440663Hi swissfilm!
That’s weird, I never noticed that before. What happens when you add this in /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/assets/css/avia-builder.css?
.avia-advanced-editor-enabled #poststuff div#formatdiv { display: block !important; }
EDIT: I think it’s because if you set a post format then there isn’t much point in using the advanced layout editor.

May 7, 2015 at 2:38 pm #440953Wow just discovered another Problem!
Social share icons and Comment Field are disappearing in blog post when saving post in advanced layout editor. They reappear when saving in standard editor.May 8, 2015 at 6:00 am #441378Hey!
That is expected behaviour, the ALB for posts is for users wanting total control of their posts. You can add for instance Social Share Icons yourself to an ALB post using the corresponding element.

RikardSeptember 30, 2015 at 5:39 am #511108Hello,
I have the same issue. I want to use the format options such as image, video, gallery etc to keep my posts standard looking. But I also want to add elements from the Advanced Layout Editor to spice up a post’s appearance…Once I switch from the Default to the Advanced Layout Editor, the post does not show the post title and other info on the top of the post, nor the social media/comments on the bottom. Ie I lose the standard appearance of the posts…
Via the Advanced Layout Editor, I can add the social media and comments manually to the bottom of the posts, but there is no option to add the post title etc on the top of each post.
Is there a way to have format options working at same time as the Advanced Layout Editor?
Or
What are the shortcodes to display the Post title, post date, # of comments, Category and author at the top of each post? (the same way the standard formats show this information). I will paste into each post. Please let me know
Thank you :)September 30, 2015 at 9:27 am #511217Hi,
You can use ALB elements in the default editor by selecting them with the Magic Wand tool, the last icon on the top row: http://imgur.com/GReRtrs
Thanks,
RikardSeptember 30, 2015 at 9:35 am #511227Yes, I have done this. But it often messes up the formatting vs the ALB. And there is no elements to add the Post title, post date, # of comments, Category and author should it disappear.
So the only option I see is having the ALB function with the format enabled, or getting the shortcodes to manually display the Post title, post date, # of comments, Category and author.
Do you know the shortcodes? (please)Thanks :)
September 30, 2015 at 4:12 pm #511639Hi!
There is already a comments element in the ALB. For the title you can use the special heading element. For the post meta you can type that stuff out manually in a textblock / codeblock element. Or you can right click your page and view source and copy the element for the post meta and paste that inside a codeblock and change the values to whatever you need.
If you want your post to display like a regular post and not a page then you will need to use the default editor instead of the ALB.
Cheers!
ElliottSeptember 30, 2015 at 5:46 pm #511720I was thinking there is simple code that someone at Kriesi can give me which automatically displays the Post title, post date, # of comments, Category and author.
ie the exact same way it shows when using the default editor formats. As in, I paste the same code in the heading (via the ALB) and the Post title, post date, # of comments, Category and author appear as it would with the default formats…
I don’t want to manually enter text and modify for each post. That would introduce errors and too much waste time. I have to enter approx 75 posts…
Is there someone I can contact at Kriesi for these codes? I have the enfold photography template. Thanks :)
September 30, 2015 at 5:54 pm #511728Hi!
We don’t have anyone that does custom work right now. You can create a feature request here, https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/, and if it gets enough interest we will probably see a new element get added for this in a future update.

ElliottSeptember 30, 2015 at 6:07 pm #511746I don’t know if it would be considered a feature but more of a bug. I’ve seen many posts where customers of kriesi’s templates want to have the standard looking format look, and then add more elements. As you mentioned, we can get around it with the wand, but then at one point the standard format disappears without reason/explanation… With this bug, the shortcode for the Post title, post date, # of comments, Category and author would be very very helpful. It is not only for the text displayed but there are links to the comments, category & author.
Is there a way we can escalate it as a bug fix/patch? I imagine it would take 5 minutes for one of your supercoders to make the simple code to paste, and save me/others tons of time. :)Thanks

If you want the post to display like a regular post then you will need to use the default editor. You can add additional elements to the post with the magic wand icon.
If you want the post to display like a page and customize everything about it then you can use the advanced layout builder. You have to keep in mind the other users who might not want comments to display, who might not want the post meta to display, etc etc. I think in the future we will probably add more elements to the layout builder such as post meta but for now you will have to add that stuff in manually with the textblock / codeblock elements.
