We are using a child theme with Enfold 4.1.2
Current theme has configured 2 widgets columns for the footer (“Footer column 1” and “Footer column 2”)
When we perform the upgrade to 5.0.1, the custom footer columns don’t show up and if I go to:
    Appearance > Customize > Widgets
It has no options, stating: “Your theme has 5 widget areas, but this particular page does not display them.”
For all pages except the blog, that works fine with “Sidebar Blog” widgets.

The default page template show 2 columns, with related links and pages links instead of the desired footer widgets.

I suspect it has something to do with incompatible php code in the child theme, that has functions.php and footer.php

    Hey nrgi,

The structure of footer.php has changed from the version you are updating from, so you would need to replace footer.php in your child theme with the parent theme file. You can add your customisations back in after that. If you need further help, then please post admin WordPress login details in private.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
