    Dear Team!
You helped me in the last days with my update from Version 4.4. to Version 6.0.1.
currently I’m struggling with the problem that my 2 Foother columns with custom HTML are replaced with standard widgets.

Could you please help me figuring out what happened.

    Hey Clemens,

Thanks for the login details. footer.php and header.php likely needs to be replaced in your child theme, please try copying those files from the parent into the child theme. You can then add the customisations back into those files, or use functions instead. You can keep the old files for reference.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hey Rikard!
Thanks, that solved the problem. But I have another one that could be related to enfold.
I use theeventscalendar to display our events.
My events detail site design looks very buggy since my updates.
I found out that on my “Live” site, all the content of the site is within the div with the ID #wrap_all. But on my testing site, only the header is inside of the div.
Please refer to the 2 pages in the Private Content area.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. It would be great if you start separate threads for different problems in the future.

Did this problem happen after you only updated the theme, or did you update WordPress and the plugin as well? You might want to try and roll back to the version of the plugin that you were previously running to see what happens then.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard!
Sorry, I will open a new thread next time;-)
I tried your approach but it didn’t help.
I did some more testing and found out that there might be some connection with the “Farbsection” I use a “Farbsection at the top of the event which has a Background Image. as soon as I delete this “Farbsection”, the content is in the “wrapp_all” div and the styling is (nearly) as I expect it to be.
Do you know of any conflicts with the “Farbsection” and the “theeventscalendar” plugin?
    Thanks and best regards, Clemens

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

The Advanced Layout Builder is not enabled for events by default. How did you add a Color Section or Farbsection to the event page?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael!
in my installation, the ALB is enabled… maybe my former developer enabled it? the other elements (text blocks, video blocks) work fine.
in the meantime, I managed to get the Color Section back into the “wrapp_all” div (I found out that my developer adjusted the “header.php” and I added the changes to my updated child-theme) but it still doesn’t look as it should. I keep on investigating this problem and will come back here if cant’t find the solution.

    Hi,

It’s not recommended to enable the ALB for this post type because the ALB doesn’t include all the necessary elements to build an event. You can replace some of the event objects with the available elements in the builder, but they will require some customization. The functionality of the event pages will be limited.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Dear Ismael!
thank you for your input. I use the ALB because it’s easier for my authors to build and format the Events with the ALB. I insert the necessary Eventinfos Title, dates, prices, etc.) with the use of customized shortcodes.

Do you have any idea why the “Color Section” is not added to the Wrap-All div only events sites?
ON “normal” Sites, the Color Section (which contains a “header image”) is inside the Wrap-All div.

    Clemens

    Hi,

Do you have any idea why the “Color Section” is not added to the Wrap-All div only events sites?

Did you set a different template for the events? It’s also possible that the customized shortcodes render additional containers that conflict with the ALB.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael!
The Template used in the “theeventscalendar” settings is: “Standard Veranstaltungsvorlage”. I don’t think, that the shortcodes are the problem because when I delete them form the blocks in the ALB, this doesn’t solve the issue! Also on “regular” sites, the Color Section as first element works as expected.

Did you have a look at my sites mentioned on July 23?
    Here are the links again:
    Please compare the live site:

with the testing site (follow the link and then click on the first event: “Bezahlt wird nicht”:
    https://www.clemensk.at/ksk/veranstaltungen/

you will see that the header appears underneath the Text. Do you have any suggestion for me?

I will also re-add login credentials for you in the privat field to investigate the events from inside of WP.

As mentioned it must be a problem with the color section as a first element of the content because when I remove the section or move it to the end, the content is wrapped.

I will also add a Dropbox link to my adapted child theme files in the private content field!
I hope you can help me with this, I think it might be a small thing, but I just don’t figure it out what the problem is;-)

Here is the link to the live site once again, I don’t know if you can open it from my previous message!

    Hi,
Thanks for the login to your testing site, please provide a login to your live site so we can determine what the diffidence is.
I see a diffidence on the frontend but seeing the page elements on the backend will help.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Dear Mike!
    Thank you for your help!
Please find the Login-Credentials for the live site in the private data field!
    Looking forward to your observations;-)

    Hi,
Thanks, I see that your live site is using v4.4, and your test site is v6.0.2, but unfortunately your child theme has many core theme files, such as header.php, footer.php, shortcodes.php, & include files & tribe files.
I see that you tried to update these some of these files, but when I switch to the parent theme many of the issues are solved.
I’m not sure how intensive your customizations are, but jumping from v4.4 to v6.0.2 is a big jump, please check your customizations and try to remove as many as possible.
I have not seen any other issues like this from users making a similar upgrade without customizations.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Dear Mike!
    Thank you for your tipps!
I tried to remove the customizations but this didn’t solve the problem that the contents on the Event Pages are not in the wrap_all divs.
I might be a problem with the way, the updated eventscalendar Plugin creates the event pages. I contacted my developer and hope he can help me out with this!
Please close the Thread except you have any other suggestions I could try;-)

    Best regards,
    Clemens

    Hi,
Typically when elements are outside of the wrap_all div, this points to an unclosed HTML tag, either in your widget, of the element above the footer, or since you are using a custom footer.php to create this, you will need to rewrite this with the new footer.php, not copy & paste the custom code.
Glad that you have contacted your developer, I recommend creating a solution that doesn’t use a custom footer.php or header.php so you won’t have this issue again in the future. Let us know if we shall close this for now, you can always open a new thread in the future if you need further help.

    Best regards,
    Mike
