We’ve changed the copyright attribution in the Enfold/Footer tab, but it’s not showing. As well, there’s a category widget showing in column 3 in the footer that we have not designated in our widgets. I’m thinking something has become corrupted, and would like to refresh all the settings, but don’t want to lose all the customizations done in the Enfold dashboard. Is there a way to ensure we can re-import the settings without a lot of hassle after a refresh? Thanks in advance.

    Hi newtheme4me!

Can you send us a link to your page so we can take a look? Make sure to deactivate all plugins while testing.

I’m not really sure what you mean by dashboard customizations being saved after refreshing the settings. You can export the theme options in Dashboard > Enfold > Import/Export and import them again in the same area.

    Cheers!

I’ve tried doing the export/import thing in the past and still lost everything, so just wanted to make sure that’s how it’s done. Maybe we did it when there was a glitch or something. Happy to try again – but there’s clearly something going on with the theme. And yes, we’ve deactivated plugins during tests to no avail. Thanks.

    Hi,

Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

    Best regards,

Here’s a temp login to see if you can see what’s going on with the footer. Again, we’ve tried resetting the theme, reloading a clean version, etc., all to no avail, so something else must be going on. Thank you!

    Hi!

Please make sure to flush cache after making changes. I went to Enfold theme options > Footer and chose to display both Footer and Socket and then flushed cache and it does show up on my end :)
Text is white, you can go to Enfold theme options > General Styling tab and change it

HI there – thanks, but that’s not quite what the problem is… :) The issue is that when we change the copyright attribution in the dashboard (under Footer), it doesn’t reflect in the actual public facing footer. The other issue is that the ‘categories’ list in the 3rd widget space in the footer is not something we’ve chosen to be there. If you can have a closer look at these specific issues, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Just checking in on this again – any advice would be greatly appreciated, as it’s causing other issues (like buttons not being able to be changed for our hangouts, etc.). Thank you.

    Hi!

Probably because of your W3 Total Cache plugin. When you use a caching plugin be sure to clear it’s cache after making any changes to your site.

    Best regards,

Hi again. Please understand that I do this on a regular basis and follow correct protocol. We have done the following before we contacted you originally:

    – deactivated plugins and tested (including clearing caches)
    – cleared cache at both w3 and cloudflare
    – reset the Enfold settings
    – installed a fresh version of Enfold
    – installed a fresh version of WordPress
    – and cleared caches with each test

The footer attribution/copyright info still does not change, and the categories list in the far right widget in the footer is coming from somewhere I can not find (it’s not set as a widget). We’re not sure what else to do at this point but start the site from scratch.

Update – It seems that if a footer sidebar is left empty, the theme (I assume) automatically assigns a widget. This seems to be a bug, no? We’ve just assigned something to that space for now, so it’s no longer a big deal, but it’s interesting. A blank sidebar shouldn’t be populated with an undesired widget.

Yeah that’s intended, the theme puts some placeholder widgets in empty footer/sidebar widget areas.

    Regards,
    Josue
