Hi,
I have chosen Lato as body font in the theme General Styling, but it’s not working. Can you confirm whether Lato is included within the theme, or must it be “fed” through another application like GoogleFonts or Typekit.

Can you please pos the link to your page and point out the text that should be in Lato? There might be a CSS conflict as Lato is included in Enfold.

Thanks for getting back to me. I checked everything again, and it works! Maybe I had a delay when refreshing my browser.
Still, a question: If all these font are embedded into the theme, don’t they slow down the website? Is it advisable to remove the fonts that are not used?

Only chosen font is loaded, all the other fonts are ready to use. Therefore, no need to remove them :)

That’s clever :) Another question: I have found solutions on the forum for adding weights and other Google fonts. Is it also ok to add the Google generated code for fonts into header.php? Is one solution better than the other?

You can refer to this post to import additional fonts – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/register-additional-google-fonts-for-theme-options/. You can also add the code to header.php but adding code to functions.php file is better :)
