    I thought maybe I could use the Masonry Gallery in order to create the following since it says “You can either display entries of various post types (blog posts, portfolio entries, products) or a list of images”; however, I would want to create a block that would sometimes be an image, sometimes text and sometimes pulling a blog post. Do you have any suggestions how I might be able to do this? They would need a hover and then be able to link over to those parts of the website.

    Hey!

    The Masonry element is capable of doing this, by pulling content based on a shared taxonomy, for example Posts and Portfolio Items share the post_tag taxonomy, regarding products you may need to do the following:

    I understand that the taxonomy could help with intermixing the posts and portfolio (custom post) items; however, would I still be able to include images and videos in this same grid? It seems like I can only choose one date type either: category, post tag, post format or portfolio entries.

    No, that won’t be possible, the Grid can only be feed with Post Types.
