On development server the posts are showing the excerpt field. After migrating the whole website to clients test server, the field excerpt has disappeared in the backend. In the frontend you can still see the excerpt content, but it is not available or displayed anymore in the backend of the post.
It is the same installation, same wp version, I do not have clue. Thanks for assistance. I can send you some screenshots if you want.
problem has something to do with the user permissions.. so I think I will solve the problem by myself. thank you.

the problem is still pending because every new administrator user I added (on both word press site) has no access to the excerpt field on post pages.
Also I saw the one user has 2 roles (administrator and BackWPup. Only this user can edit and see the excerpt field.
It is not possible to give a user 2 permissions, only one permission per user. So maybe have look into the problem again (and try it out on my development server).sorry to bother you again, the solution is that when you add a new user, this user has to change the options views on the post overview page (all pages)
