Hi,
After updating theme to latest version facing difficulties like many elements does not open for editing at the back end of the website. (Heading, Separator / Whitespace, Icon List, button). It just shows empty white block or sometime it takes lot of time to load the block element for editing.
Thought some plugins might be causing this conflict and tried to disable all the plugins which was installed already, by doing so I got critical error and fixed it with the help of Host provider.
Now the website is up, enabled few plugins and content elements showing up sometime and not showing option for editing sometime, but still error pops up on the top of the page if we are in ‘Edit Advance Layout Builder’.
These were the few error which I copied for your reference.

Theme Version: 7.1.3
Using Enfold Child theme
PHP Version 7.4January 27, 2026 at 6:53 pm #1494389Hey Naveena,
I can’t see any theme references in the warnings/notices that you posted. Did you try to temporarily deactivate all plugins and remove any custom code that you might have added?
Best regards,

Thanks for that. Did you try updating your PHP version? Did you try removing any custom code that you might have added to the child theme? Did you try to temporarily deactivate all plugins?
Best regards,

Thank you for the inquiry.
The Advanced Layout Builder seem to be working correctly when we checked. The errors you’re seeing are probably coming from a plugin related to “gd-mcp”, not the theme itself. Those notices are causing the “headers already sent” warnings which can interfere with the backend.
We also noticed that there are older versions of the Enfold theme still present in your themes folder. Please remove them or move them outside of the themes directory, as having multiple copies of the theme can cause unexpected conflicts. We would also recommend upgrading your PHP version — PHP 7.4 is end of life and some newer WordPress features work better on php 8.1 or higher.
Let us know if the issue persists after trying those steps.

Updated PHP to latest version 8.2 (as recommended) and also removed the older version of Enfold theme from the staging site. After doing all these changes still the problem not resolved, please check the screenshot, it gives the blank screen without the editing option. http://w68.f91.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-12-041600.png
March 17, 2026 at 6:45 pm #1496107Hi,
There’s a 500 internal server on the WordPress file in private. Reach out to your hosting provider and ask why that is, or share server error logs with us.

Your memory limit is set to 512M, you can see that under Tools->Site Health->Info->Server. If adjusting it via wp-config.php doesn’t change anything, then it might be limited by your hosting provider.

Are you getting the fatal error on your staging site while all plugins are deactivated? Are we allowed to temporarily deactivate plugins for debugging purposes?
Best regards,

No Fatal error on staging site and yes you have my permission to deactivate plugins from the staging site.
Thanks,

March 22, 2026 at 11:07 am #1496231Hi,
I’m not sure what is going wrong on your site, but it doesn’t seem theme related. When the Enfold parent theme is active and no plugins are activate then there are error messages coming from Tinymce which is WordPress core, and when a default WordPress theme is activate then I see the error message in the screenshot in private. The problem might be related to the must-use plugins on your site, but I can’t say for sure. I would suggest that you reach out to your hosting provider for clarification on that.
Best regards,
Rikard -
