OK… this might sound like an odd question…
But wouldn’t the default featured image for an attachment page be the image that’s attached?
I’m asking because when we take
http://rebeccatdickson.com/freestuff/be-happy2/
Which is an attachment page, and run it through the Facebook debug to pick up the featured image, we get no image:

What am I missing?
Thanks!
MFebruary 27, 2015 at 7:44 pm #403621Hi interage!
Facebook needs an og:image meta tag to decide which image to use. Usually I recommend customers to install the WordPress SEO plugin and enable the “open graph meta tag” option to have it automatically set but I’m not sure if that will work for an attachment page. It would probably be better to just share the image URL instead of the attachment page.

And for the record – it’s picking it up from blog posts:
http://rebeccatdickson.com/2015/02/16/5-ways-storytelling-for-biz-brings-sales-and-staying-power/
(Which is the same site – but a blog post)
Translates to:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http://rebeccatdickson.com/2015/02/16/5-ways-storytelling-for-biz-brings-sales-and-staying-power/
Which shows the featured image just fine.
So there’s no way for enfold to pick up the attachment image and make it a featured image?March 2, 2015 at 5:36 pm #404608Hey!
You need to have the og:image meta tag in your header so facebook knows which image to use. Did you try the plugin I linked to?
You should see the same behaviour with the default theme though so it’s not really an Enfold issue.
Cheers!

Sorry for the delay in getting back.
I did install WordPress SEO, and while the image is showing, it’s way too small. What we’re facing now is the following – the attachment page is not reverting to the full image, but a smaller version at 300 x 169, so facebook is not putting it up as it should.
Here’s the attachment page:

You can look here for examples of right and wrong Facebook display:
