I started a thread at this link https://kriesi.at/support/topic/add-hyperlink-to-featured-image/
It seemed to have worked, but I noticed that the code wasn’t functioning. How do I get the the featured image to link to a particular post? Can we pick up where we left off?
Thanks and Merry Christmas
December 21, 2017 at 8:58 pm #891355Hey kelsangwangpo,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?
Is the code still there?Best regards,

I got a 500 error and could not see the page or login to the dashboard. Is the dev server down?

VictoriaJanuary 3, 2018 at 3:15 am #892697Thanks Victoria,
Sorry for the delay. The system wouldn’t allow me to message you.
We have made our site live at meditation-indianapolis.org. This is where we are trying to correct the code.

VictoriaJanuary 7, 2018 at 5:19 am #894283Hi Victoria
I updated the password for the account I gave you.January 8, 2018 at 4:59 am #894577Hi,
Did you create a custom field called “custom_image_link” and switch the post format to “link”?
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 9, 2018 at 7:34 am #895125I did. Unfortunately, it is not working.
January 10, 2018 at 10:43 am #895580Hi,
It’s not working because you’re using the advance layout builder. You have to use the default editor. Did you remove the default feature image markup from the single posts’ template?
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 11, 2018 at 9:20 am #896048Hi Ismael
I made a change according to the instructions your gave me here.
Is that the change you wanted to see? That change didn’t work.
January 13, 2018 at 3:41 am #896782Hi,
Did you remove the featured image markup from the single.php or the loop-index.php file template? I’m asking because the featured image is missing from the single post page. Again, you have to use the default editor in order for this to work.
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 13, 2018 at 4:32 am #896798I only changed the code that you asked me to change. I made that change with the expectation that it would allow me to use the advanced layout editor.
A client is using the site and requested that they use the advanced layout editor because of ease of use. So, we need a solution that allows them to use the advanced layout editor and to have a clickable featured image. The featured image we want clickabe is on the homepage in a grid. meditation-indianapolis.org
Thanks
January 13, 2018 at 5:31 am #896834Hi,
I only changed the code that you asked me to change. I made that change with the expectation that it would allow me to use the advanced layout editor.
The modification is intended for the default editor because it is related to the featured image. The featured image is not going to be displayed if the advance layout builder is active. I’m sorry but this feature will require modification that is beyond the scope of support. Please hire a freelance developer or contact our partner, Codeable.

IsmaelJanuary 13, 2018 at 7:58 am #896858Hi Ismael,
I appreciate the feedback. I may not have been clear. I am not trying to display the featured image. It already displays as I want it to. I am trying to understand why the featured image cannot hold a link when it is displayed.
January 15, 2018 at 3:26 am #897319Hi,
It already displays as I want it to. I am trying to understand why the featured image cannot hold a link when it is displayed.
The previous request was to apply a custom link to the featured image. That’s what we did in the previous modification. Now, the featured image is not displaying when I switched to the default editor but I’m not sure why, that’s why I’m asking if you modify the theme files. Again, the modification is not going to work if the advance layout builder is active.
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 15, 2018 at 4:52 am #897356Ok. Sounds like I shouldn’t use the default editor though. Thanks for letting me know.
