Im not sure if there was an update that caused this or what, but my featured images for blog posts are not being displayed correctly. Instead of the full image showing, it is being cropped. Thanks for your

VictoriaDecember 5, 2019 at 4:02 am #1162771Hello, I’ve added the Simple Image Sizes plugin and changed entry_with_sidebar size and entry_without_sidebar size to no cropping and regenerated the thumbnails, but it does not seem to be working.
December 5, 2019 at 9:19 pm #1163219Hi Mary,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

December 8, 2019 at 11:00 pm #1163917Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the login, I believe that your featured images in the Simple Image Sizes plugin are actually one of these:
featured size
featured_large size
both of these say cropping “yes”, please try changing these, and please remember to use the “Thumbnail regeneration” option to see your changes.Best regards,
MikeDecember 9, 2019 at 9:18 pm #1164191Hi Mike, I tried turning the cropping off for featured and featured_large. This changes the homepage banner but is not affecting the blog featured image on the blog post or where it is featured on the homepage.
December 11, 2019 at 6:18 pm #1164917My main concern is how the featured image renders on individual blog posts. If it could just not be cropped that would be ideal.
December 11, 2019 at 9:35 pm #1164999Hi,
Install the plugin called ” Simple Image Size ” and you can select the exact sizes you need for this.

BasilisDecember 12, 2019 at 1:38 am #1165031Hi Basilis, I have already installed this plugin and as you can see form the previous comments, it is not changing the featured blog post image.
December 14, 2019 at 2:37 pm #1165866Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, I copied your post /learning-spanish-101/ to my localhost and matched your blog and theme settings, and your Simple Image Size plugin settings, and once I regenerated my thumbnails the featured image was not cropped, Please see the screenshot in Private Content area. So seeing that this worked I then tried to regenerate your thumbnails but the process seemed to lock up without any errors, so I tried uploading a new copy of the featured image and choose it for your post and the new image was not cropped. I believe this is going to work for you for future posts, please try creating a new test post and upload a new featured image to check.Best regards,
MikeDecember 17, 2019 at 12:29 am #1166620Hey did you do anything else on the site? I have not done work on the site since posting my question and now it looks like this:

I am very confused on what happened. Everything is completely messed up.December 17, 2019 at 12:40 am #1166622Oh I found the answer here https://kriesi.at/support/topic/this-element-was-disabled-in-your-theme-settings/ for the Performance Settings issues. Not sure what triggered that. I will take a look at the featured image solution now.
December 17, 2019 at 12:54 am #1166624Hi Mike, so I just created a new post and the featured image is still cropped. Please see link.
December 17, 2019 at 1:44 pm #1166824Hi,
Did you upload a new image or did you choose one that was already uploaded before?
I tested by replacing your featured image with a new image and it is not cropped, please check.
As I had tried to regenerate your thumbnails before, but the process seemed to lock up without any errors, probably a plugin conflict, but the settings seem to be in effect for new uploads going forward.Best regards,
MikeJanuary 7, 2020 at 8:33 pm #1171193Thank you – yes it works if I re-upload the picture.
