We wanted to add a post “like” button at the end of our blog posts. I tried 6 different plugins to accomplish this, but they either didn’t work at all, or didn’t place the button where we wanted it. We have a lot of added stuff at the end of our posts, so this is probably not the theme’s fault.
Adding a like button with a separate plugin isn’t really ideal anyway. It would be great if the button was integrated with the theme’s built in social media bar. Would it be possible to add it to the Blog Layout section of the Theme Options in the “Share links at the bottom of your blog post” section?
I’m picturing a heart icon with a count number next to it, and “like this post” upon hover.
Thanks for considering this request!
Hey kgalatz,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Which plugins have you tried? Most of the plugins offer shortcodes or function that can be added directly in the template and allow users to manually control the position of the button or adjust its markup and style. The following plugin for example has a Code Snippet field containing the function which can be added anywhere in the templates.
