Greetings from Vienna!
I have an issue with the favicon not showing in the front end of google chrome (IE works fine as mozilla firefox does).
I have defined the favicon in the enfold child theme, and it worked, but now not more.
Can you please help me fixing this issue.

Thank you for contacting us.
I checked your site and noticed you are using a large jpg image. Instead please use the below link to generate a favicon and upload it to the theme options.
After updating the favicon please perform the below steps to clear the browser cache to view the changes:
1. Disable “merging and compression” for CSS and JS files from Enfold > Performance.
2. If a caching plugin is installed check the plugin settings and clear the cache and deactivate the plugins for testing purpose.
3. Hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F5 on your browser or press the F12 key to open chrome dev tools and right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”.
If you still have any issue please deactivate all plugins, clear the cache again and check for the issue.

VinayMay 27, 2019 at 9:37 am #1104463Thank you Vinay for the input!
I have generated now an icon and uploaded the 512x512px jpg version to the theme options.
Disabled merging an compression (no cache plugin) and did a hard refresh, but noting changed.
In addition I inserted in the main page the code for the icon:
<link rel=”apple-touch-icon” sizes=”180×180″ href=”/apple-touch-icon.png”>
<link rel=”icon” type=”image/png” sizes=”32×32″ href=”/favicon-32×32.png”>
<link rel=”icon” type=”image/png” sizes=”16×16″ href=”/favicon-16×16.png”>
<link rel=”manifest” href=”/site.webmanifest”>
But still nothing changed.
-> is there an easier way without deactivating all plugins? or
-> must I use the image with the ico-suffix and upload this one?best regards
Gerhard

June 6, 2019 at 4:57 am #1107792Hi Gerhard,
It’s showing fine on my end using Chrome, are you sure that you are not getting cached results? You can try to load the site in an incognito window to verify that.

RikardJune 6, 2019 at 8:20 am #1107846Sorry Rikard!
Everything looks good now.
I emptied the cache during my efforts to bring up the favicon. But evidently forgot to clear after my last successfull attempt.
best regards
