    Good day Enfold Forum,

Today i want to present a problem which is bothering us for a few day’s now.

The url of the website: www . futureprofessionals.nl/
If you have feedback on the website we would really like to hear! :)

I think i tried everything but maybe I’m overlooking something.

So we put the favicon in multiple formats and way’s but based on these article so:
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11362968/favicon-not-working

    https://community.wappler.io/t/favicon-ico-png-not-displaying-in-chrome-solved/6099

So we are compliant to the guidelines of Google:
    https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9290858?hl=en

I tried this via WordPress Plugin “Favicon door RealFaviconGenerator” not working.

    The Enfold favicon in theme: tried 512 x 512, 48 x 48, 16 x 16

    The frontpage favicon: tried 512 x 512, 48 x 48, 16 x 16

I really don’t know why Google Mobile is not picking up our Favicon. In Google Search Console it’s visible, in Duck Duck Go it’s visible but we really want it to be visibile on Google.

We have to wait a day before Google crawles our website so every day we are trying a new way to see if it sticks.

Really looking forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,

    Bob

    We checked the favicon checker:

    https://realfavicongenerator.net/favicon_checker?protocol=https&site=futurepro fessionals.nl%2F

It looks like the tool can find every facvicon. Could you please help us out?

    Like to hear !

    Hi Bpieterse,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Bob,

Thanks for giving us admin access.
When I checked on your site there were two opening < head > tags and two closing < /head > tags, which I think is potentially causing the issue. (other favicons are out of the head tag as a result)
It seems it’s been added in Settings > Insert Headers and Footers > Scripts in Header, please remove the opening and closing head tag, then flush out the cache from the WP-Rocket.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,

Thanks for your quick reply and explanation! The enfold moderators rock in solving problems :)

I follower your steps and hopefully will see the results tommorow!

Would be awesome if this works :)

Do you know if this is a problem? From the favicon checker, I thought the more the merrier and hopefully Google will pick it up:

    https://realfavicongenerator.net/favicon_checker?protocol=https&site=futureprofessi onals.nl%2F

https://futureprofe ssionals.nl/wp-content/uploads/fbrfg/favicon.ico?v=Gv6A7B4P8W and https://futureprofess ionals.nl/favicon.ico both exist and are identical

    Kind regards,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

Thanks for your kind words and I do hope it resolves the issue.
As for your question, actually, there’s no real standard so it’s a bit hard to weigh it though I think it should not be redundant.
The other sizes seem to be just to be backward compatible (or at least what those older devices need).
Here’s something that might be helpful: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2997437/what-size-should-apple-touch-icon-png-be-for-ipad-and-iphone

    Hi Nikko,

We tried you solution, so removed the header via the insert plugin.

However we are still not seeing results in the mobile Serp for Google :(

I have checked several stackoverflow threats regarding the favicon and for now based on all the requirements filled in the backend.

If this does not work, do you see any other possibilities?

    Like to hear.

    Cheers,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

I’m not really sure how we can help but maybe these solutions posted in these threads can help:
    1. Adding favicon.ico in the root directory, so in your case after you have done it, you should change the href value of this:

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/wp-content/uploads/fbrfg/favicon.ico?v=Gv6A7B4P8W">

according to the solution here: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/favicon-for-media-files/#post-937434
    2. According to this forum: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/favicon-not-rendering-in-google-search/ they didn’t rename and still a png file but should be in increments of 48px and it just took google a week to index their site.
I hope one of the two works.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
