    My favicon used to appear, but now it is not appearing. I uploaded it again and cleared cache but it is still not appearing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the login details. It’s displaying on the backend but not on the frontend when I check it. That is likely due to caching or minification, maybe because of your WP-Optimize plugin?

    HI Rikard. I disabled WP-Optimize May 8 and cleared cache. Then I let it sit for the past week and Favicon still is not showing for me on the live site. I do see it in WP-Admin, but not on live site.

    Before doing this I saw a rectangle in the favicon area. Now I see a circle that looks like a globe of the world.

    Any other suggestions for me?

    Hi,
    I took a look at your site and I see you are getting a 404 error on the favicon.
    I also see that your favicon is in this format:
    favicon.jpg
    As a rule of thumb, browsers look for the favicon as “favicon.ico” in your root directory, I recommend using this online converter to upload your “favicon.jpg” and convert to “favicon.ico” and then upload to your root folder, the same place as your wordpress “index.php”

    Hi,
    I see that your favicon.ico is now on the site in the /wp-content/ directory, please try uploading to the root directory via ftp, that is the same directory as index.php

    Thanks Mike. I did that and it worked, but only after I changed the filepath in theme settings.

    Question: Why would this be happening only on this website? I use Enfold them on multiple websites without that issue.

    Hi everyone, I’m glad to see this topic (even if it is a bit old) because I lastly had the same problem on 2 clients sites.
    While setting the favicon directly on the avia settings panel (of my enfold child theme) I can’t see it live (not working for admin nor frontend).

    I tryed with, .jpg, .png and .ico files and it is never working even after clearing the browser cache.

    On previous installations of WP + Enfold it was instantly working after saving the settings.

    Did you guys change anything about the favicon handling for enfold child themes ?

    Hi,
    I don’t believe the dev team has changed anything with the favicon, I didn’t find anything in github. I also don’t recall any specific child theme suggestions for the favicon, except for the login and admin pages.
    Did you try converting to “favicon.ico” and then uploading via FTP to your root directory, the same place as your WordPress “index.php”?
    Browsers seem to always respect a “favicon.ico” in the root directory.
    But currently many devices and browsers are looking for specific file types and sizes and some favicon generators will create them all at once for you and also provide the header code for you.

    Hi Mike,
    Thank you for your answer. I tryed the favicon generator you advised, uploaded the files in my root directory and added the 4 <link> lines in the <head> section (using a custom function of my child theme) and it worked perfectly.

    As I’m managing around 25 websites, I’m a little bit worried about the browser compatibility of the favicons added straight from the Avia settings. Do you think that it could be possible (in the future versions) to ask for an initial favicon format with precise prerequisites and generate all declinations, <link> tags and the site.webmanifest from there ?
