    My website :
    http://www.perksinstitutions.com
From Yesterday, my website is refusing to open. I was getting the Fatal error message as follows:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home3/sriniva3/public_html/perksinstitutions/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:10) in /home3/sriniva3/public_html/perksinstitutions/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

I could not even get the login page and was getting Fatal Error message.

With the help of Bluhost, I could recover the login page by changing the theme to a newer one.

Kindly help me to recover the website ( http://www.perksinstitutions.com ) as soon as possible

    Thanks for the suggestions

I understand the first step : Please remove this file via FTP
    /themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php

But I do not understand the second step :
it has moved to this file
    /themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php

Should I up load this file ? From where should I obtain the file ?

    Hi,

The error occurs because of those two files contains similar code, so what you have done already should be enough. Victoria wrote the second part as an explanation of why you should delete the first file.

    Rikard

    Thanks for the support.

Now I have deleted the March updates and installed old January updates fearing that the latest update might bring agin the fatal error. Is that Ok or should I update the theme to the latest version ?

Bluehost offers only 7.0 version of php. They do not have the php 7.2.0 version available for the public. Will this affect the website performance ?

    Thanks again

    Hey!

PHP 7.0 will be fine. After upgrading your PHP version, please try re-updating the theme via FTP – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ and let us know if you have any issues

    Best regards,

I had to delete both events files:
    /themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php
    and
    /themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_upcoming.php
    :(

    #961613

    Hi,

That is fine @deonpt, they are duplicate files anyway. Correct files are in /themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_upcoming/ and /themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/ respectively :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi laflacker,

    Please do the following:

    1. Switch to a default wordpress theme like twentyseventeen
    2. Delete your recent Enfold theme
    3. Upload and install the latest version of Enfold

Let us know if it helps :)

    Hi,

    @inkinch
please contact your hosting provider and ask them to upgrade PHP version to minimum 5.6 and preferably to 7.x.

    @tontondavid813
, please delete the theme and re-install it – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/install-enfold-theme/#theme-install. It seems like theme folders were merged instead of being replaced and therefore there are duplicate files and that is causing the issue.

    Best regards,
    Yigit
