Hi Enfold Team,
We have recently updated the ENFOLD theme to 5.6.10 version after the update we are facing the following specific issues :
1. When we edit some content such as adding a team member to the About/Meet the Team page, when we type in their name and title, it will not allow us to type a space between words. We have to copy a space from somewhere and paste it in.
2. All the fonts are smaller now and the theme doesn’t respond to changes we make to global styling.
Please help us fix this issue ASAP which would be really helpful.
Thanks and Regards

LeadliaisonMarch 6, 2024 at 7:18 am #1436443Hi!
Thank you for the inquiry.
1-2) Looks like the site is still loading the old scripts and stylesheets. Please disable the Autoptimize plugin temporarily, then deactivate the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings. This should fix the styling and layout issues.

We also have our social icons missing in the header section as you can see them in the previous comparision example which we shared earlier, But in current site after theme update we were not able see those and also we tried disabling the File compression settings and deactivated the autooptimize plugin but still the site remains the same, Is there anything else we need to do after disabling those settings, Please let us know so we can proceed accordingly and fix this issue.

LeadliaisonMarch 8, 2024 at 8:55 am #1436710Hi,
Sorry for the delay. Have you made any modifications to the template files in the child theme? Please make sure that the template files are updated accordingly. In the future, we recommend cloning the site to a staging environment and address any errors, before pushing the changes on the live site.
Best regards,
IsmaelMarch 8, 2024 at 9:58 am #1436714Hi Ismael,
We have only upgraded the enfold theme version, we haven’t made any changes in the child enfold theme template files. Before upgrading we had taken the backup of our site and also we had compared the files in child theme with previous backups but looks similar.

LeadliaisonMarch 8, 2024 at 2:34 pm #1436736Hi,
Please note that the error of not being able to type spaces between words is typically do to a plugin, please disable all of your plugins and check again, and thn enable you plugins one at a time to find the conflict.
I see that you have a child theme, if you have a custom footer.php & header.php, please remove these files and any customizations you wish to make should be done in your child theme functions.php we do not recommend adding these files to your child theme, it is the most common reason for errors when updating.
Your live site is not showing the topbar like the wayback version, so ensure that this is enable in your theme settings.
If this doesn’t help please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can be of more assistance.Best regards,

LeadliaisonMarch 14, 2024 at 5:23 pm #1437236Hi,
Thanks, I went to the “Meet the Team” page, and saw the in the team element I couldn’t add a space, so I loaded the frontend of the page and then disabled all of your plugins, and then reloaded the page again and then tried to edit the backend team element and I could add spaces.
Unfortunately you have a lot of plugins, 40+, so please follow these steps and disable all of your plugins and then enable one at a time, reloading the page and clearing the cache until you find the conflict, the search for a substitute for the plugin causing the conflict.Best regards,
MikeMarch 14, 2024 at 8:11 pm #1437251Hi Mike
Okay, we will check and try this solution for the space issue currently being faced. However, what about the missing header and footer on the current site after updating the theme? You can refer to the example of the older site that we shared

LeadliaisonMarch 15, 2024 at 3:04 pm #1437312Hi Mike,
We are more concerned with the font and color issues site wide, and we will change the space issue. Could you please suggest the font and color features on our site and also, please find the web archive link for our site https://web.archive.org/web/20220630125343/https://www.leadliaison.com/, how our old site looked before the theme update.
Please help us fix this issue ASAP which would be really helpful. Thanks
LeadliaisonMarch 15, 2024 at 4:31 pm #1437328Hi,
I see that whenever a page is edited there is a permissions error for core WordPress files:
one is for a plugin “easy pricing” and I see and error that your Rest API has been disabled, so you made have other plugin conflicts.
comparing the wayback page with your current one, I only see the your headings have a color of #666 now and were #222 but the font sizes is the same, and you icon element font was 21px and now 16px. The problem is that the wayback page uses the Autoptimize cache and now you are not, Autoptimize often breaks the cache styles due to multiple minifying, typically people notice the error and the disable Autoptimize to correct, so I’m not sure if you didn’t realize the error until now when Autoptimize has been disabled and the cache cleared.
When I examine your general style you are using the font color #666 so this leads me to believe that this color is correct and the Autoptimize version was wrong.
I recommend disabling the above plugin and any others that are causing the permissions & Rest API errors.Best regards,
MikeMarch 15, 2024 at 4:48 pm #1437331HI Team,
Thanks for your response.
We will check with our team and disable those plugins as you suggested and will let you know. Thanks
LeadliaisonMarch 26, 2024 at 5:03 am #1438319Hi Team,
Since we are facing these issues after the theme upgrade, Now we have reverted the changes and restored the parent and child theme files from previous month where site was working fine without these errors, Now after restoring those old theme files tried clearing the caches and checked the site still it remains the same and did not revert back to the old state even after restoring the old theme files, Also we are seeing some error notice in the header region. I have pasted the error in the private content, Please check this issue and help us resolve it ASAP since it’s continuing for a long time.

LeadliaisonMarch 27, 2024 at 10:17 pm #1438495Hi,
When I check your site it shows that it is using v5.6.10, so it seems that how you tried to restore to the old version didn’t work. Try checking with your webhost backup versions and choose one from the time that your site was working correctly and then restore it, please note that you need to restore the files and the database, some webhost backups show the database restore on a different tab in the tool and may be easily overlooked.
After you restore the site, try creating a staging site and use it to test updates on, typically updates don’t cause an issue, but one can not be sure how customizations or plugins will behave with a update, in general this is a good practice. Most cPanel webhosts have a staging site option, some in the dashboard:
Others add the option in the Softaculous WordPress Management
There may be other staging site options in different cPanel servers, these are the two that I have seen.Best regards,
Mike -
