Hello,
I just updated my site to 4.2.6 and had my host update my php to 7.0 to fix the fatal error. Now, I have extra characters at the very beginning of the page before anything else that are messing up the spacing. The characters appear to be a syntax typo somewhere in a php file, but I can’t find them.
The characters are as follows: ” />
Can anyone help me track this down? Thanks!

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

Please see the attached credentials.
Thanks!April 1, 2018 at 7:35 am #935709Hi,
Thanks for that, though it’s very difficult to know where exactly that is coming from. Do you know which files your host made edits to?
Best regards,
RikardApril 1, 2018 at 5:51 pm #935797I first updated to 4.2.6 and then it broke my site (fatal error). So I then found another thread on this site with a link to an alternate header file to use if not using PHP 7 (I was at 5.4). So I tried that first and that’s when the characters started appearing.
After that, I had my host update to 7.0 and replaced the header file with the 4.2.6 header file straight from a fresh download of the theme. The characters were still there.
If I turn off sticky header, the characters go away. So, I’m wondering if it’s tied to the code for the sticky header? It really just looks like a syntax error resulted in some extra characters being printed.
Let me know what other information I can provide. I’m happy to help and need to get this fixed.
April 1, 2018 at 8:49 pm #935826Hi,
Please access your site with FTP or log in to your control panel and access the site via File Manager and perform the below steps:
Replace the header.php file in wp-content/themes/enfold folder with an updated version of the header.php file.
Best regards,
