hi,
I am trying to link to this page…
http://www.toryburch.com/blog-post/blog-post,default,pg.html?bpid=79251
from here:
http://bikinibootcamp.com/dev/press
for some reason when u click on it it defaults to:
http://www.toryburch.com/blog/torys-blog,default,pg.html
which is the wrong link.
the link is correct… but from inside wordpress it doesn’t work.
any ideas?
thanks
jaz
just to clarify… if i use the link on an image it doesn’t work.. if i use the link on text it works.
see example here…
http://bikinibootcamp.com/dev/press
it stops reading the link at the comma…
sorry – the link is the TORY BLOG image with hyperlink under it
Hi!
The coma is a pretty unusual character for a url. The best route would just be to use a url shortner like bit.ly and use it in place on the image so that it gets parsed correctly.
I’m not actually sure if comas are legal as urls but I can’t really say for sure. Just going around it is the best and most direct option however.

Devin
just wondering why the link works if it’s a hyperlink on text but not a link on an image? when the URL is the same… i can’t change the URL as it’s an external article on a blog
thanks…
it is either getting cleaned out by a WordPress function or by a theme function to prevent errors. URL’s within text don’t have the same checks on their content that images do.
You might be able to get around it by adding in the url manually to the image but that isn’t an option if you are trying to use the media element in the advanced layout editor.
