Hi,
My Envato account shows that I have two months of support left. I purchased the Enfold theme. Somehow, I was under the impression that updates and availability for support on the theme did not have a end date. Please clarify.
Also, if the only way to extend coverage is to pay a fee, please tell me how much and where I would pay it.
Thanks!

December 20, 2015 at 4:19 am #555524Hey!
There is a small checkbox you can tick to purchase 6 months of support on the item page, http://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990?ref=Kriesi.
I’m not really sure how they are implementing the change. I thought that the 6 months free support would start on all new purchases starting now but perhaps they are just setting it to all purchases made in the past 6 months.
Envato changed the rules recently. I don’t think theme authors have a choice in the matter unfortunately.
Best regards,
ElliottDecember 20, 2015 at 3:47 pm #555596Thanks Elliott,
I’ll contact Envato direct. I have been using Enfold for sometime now – at least two years or more. I never received notice of this “rule change”. Hopefully they will consider a “grandfathered” situation. Doesn’t seem honorable. But I do love the theme!

it would be nice, if you post their answer here. I think it’s an interesting topic for others, too.
Thank you
December 20, 2015 at 8:09 pm #555644Hey!
Their support is taking place and although it is not 100% clear yet, we will be considering what we will be doing ( and we are close to that ).
Although extending your license also means that you do help the theme creator to keep developing the theme, providing quality support through his stuff and keep the updates coming as soon as possible, with new demos and new features! We do thank you all, for your amazing support!
Best regards,
BasilisDecember 22, 2015 at 3:47 am #556284Update… sent an inquiry email to Envato. Lots of talk on their boards on this topic. Looks like updates will continue to provided, but they do want to charge for support. Will post again when I get reply.
Basilis… Kriesi and all of you provide such great support — I would have much less resistance to paying for the extended support if I knew the fees went to you 100%. $17.70/year for support via Envato is not too bad, but it seems as if they might be prone to increase that every year, or on a whim! It’s hard to budget for “whims”! :-)
I have two months of support left. Please let us know of your plan “we will be considering what we will be doing ( and we are close to that ).” ASAP.
Thanks — and Merry Christmas everyone!
December 23, 2015 at 7:02 am #556899Hi,
I still haven’t heard of any “final decision” from our end but as soon as we get a clear message from Envato what the rules will be we can hopefully give you one.
Merry Christmas!
RikardDecember 30, 2015 at 3:56 am #558343Hi,
This is the reply I have received from Envato… looks like Kriesi will let us know?Suppose this begs the question — was the Enfold theme offered “with lifetime updates and support” at the time of purchase a few years back? Envato cannot seem to answer that question. Just need a straight answer before February so I know which way to turn since my account was flagged with a “support ends in 2 months” notice.
This is a part of the email I received from Envato
Question: Will updates be issued without charge going forward via Envato?Response: Yes, you will be able to access free update and free support. Feel free to contact us if an author will refuse to provide support for any of the items purchased with lifetime support. As I already mentioned, for those items who came with lifetime support there is no extra charge.
