    Hi, I’ve inserted a ‘Blog’ layout on my home page. I’ve switched on ‘Excerpt’ under Screen Options.
    Now, for my blog postI have used Advanced Layout editor and have read that using this isn’t ideal for Excerpts – please can you tell me either custom CSS code (and where exactly I place it) where I can insert my own excerpt or where exactly I’m going wrong that the Home page only displays the Tile and More link rather than the Tile, Excerpt and More link that I’ve chosen in the blog post layout.

    On my home page there’s currently the Blog Layout – which is where I want the excerpt to appear – and a second layout underneath I created from Layout elements which shows the excerpt.

    Thanks!

    Hey tesspaine,

    I added text in the excerpt field on the blog post and it shows now. So you can use excerpts as you wanted and blog posts element. Just have the text shorter.

    If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Thank you Victoria!

    On the Home page where the blog images are can I also make the background of the image container white? At the moment it’s showing a pale grey.

    Or do I have to start a new ticket for this question?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Try adding the following to quick css:

    a.slide-image{
    background:#fff!important;
    }

    Hi Jordan, I’ve tried inserting the code in quick css and it had no effect – I also tried it in ‘custom css class’ in the blog itself – any idea where I’m going wrong?!

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Perhaps I was looking at the wrong section. Can you please screenshot the exact image area you’re in need of help with. I thought you meant the very gray area around the image.

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    Hi Jordan, it’s on the home page blog excerpts when the page is resized or dragged. (I don’t actually know how to upload a screen shot and not sure I’d be able to with work firewalls).

    Thanks Jordan.

    Tess.
