I’ve read through the numerous threads about excerpts in magazine posts and made the following changes for my child theme:

– making the magazine thumbnails larger (150x150px)
– added short codes folder to my child theme, and updated the functions.php file & magazine fileI still am not able to see the magazine excerpt on any of the posts.

I did some troubleshooting on my own, and found that one of the instructions about creating a sub-folder in a child theme was inaccurate. I also found a coding error in another thread, where the code was “lenght” instead of “length”.
If folks are reading this, if you are working with an enfold child theme, and need to make a modification to the magazine.php file it should go in a folder called “config-templatebuilder” then a subfolder of “aviva-shortcodes”.
Other threads that state different folder structures are not accurate anymore.
