April 28, 2017 at 4:00 pm #784661Hi!
Can you please contact your hosting provider and ask them to upgrade PHP version? Enfold is compatible up to 7.1.x :)
Cheers!
YigitApril 28, 2017 at 4:09 pm #784665Hi, I am using PHP 5.6 I am running enfold on another site, and I don’t get the error messages.
April 28, 2017 at 4:18 pm #784676Hi, I added this to .htaccess file:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php7 .php
still have the error messages
April 28, 2017 at 8:42 pm #784802I have exactly the same warning; it appears together with some Layerslider warnings:
https://pastebin.com/SQEFWvGb– ENFOLD 4.0.5
– PHP 7 (Hoster: All-Inkl.com)This warning appears the first time, when I updated to ENFOLD 4.0.5
And it shows a plugin update, but in the plugin list there isn’t anything to update:
http://screencloud.net/v/hPb2uMaybe it has something to do with the new Layerslider version? See Pastebin above.
April 28, 2017 at 9:09 pm #784809Hi!

April 30, 2017 at 5:48 pm #785326Hi Chris,
Yes, these are due to the Layer Slider needing an update.
@SAdesignsUnltd you might not see these errors on another website, because maybe debug there is disabled or Layer Slider is not used. Please bare with us, Enfold update is coming soon.
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 10, 2017 at 5:40 pm #791232Hi Victoria, sorry for the late response was waiting for the new update to see if it would fix the issue but it hasn’t come out yet. I have re uploaded new wordpress files through ftp. I have re uploaded new enfold files through ftp. I am running php 7.1.1 and have tried deactivating and reactivating plugins. I have also checked config file and debug is not on. Like I said before, it is weird because I am getting these warning messages on this site and a few others but not some other sites, which are all on the same hosting company. Using the same plugins for the most part. Wordfence, WPRocket, Yoast SEO Premium and so forth. I have attached screen shots of what is going on so maybe you can get a better idea.
May 10, 2017 at 8:15 pm #791322I can see the issue. Warning: fopen(/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/plugins/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/eccosense/www/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4784
It’s calling “/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/plugins/…” instead of just calling “/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php”
May 11, 2017 at 3:54 am #791437Hi,
Can you give us temporary admin and ftp access? so we can check it further and try to debug it.
Best regards,
NikkoMay 11, 2017 at 4:46 am #791450Thank you Nikko. One other thing I noticed is that the theme settings also always say I need to save them. Not sure if that’s related. So when you click theme options it always looks like they need to be saved and on other sites it’s greyed out until you change something.
May 11, 2017 at 5:24 am #791459Hi,
I have checked your site and I can’t see any plugins to update and can’t test the error. However I have applied the solution I did on this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/error-message-when-update-plugins/#post-790808 (and you both have similar issues). If there’s an available update for the plugin try to update it and let us know if the error still appears. :)
Best regards,
NikkoMay 11, 2017 at 1:44 pm #791630Thank you, that looks like it did the trick. That has been driving me crazy for a while now. When I go to the update page, those warnings, aren’t there anymore. They must have changed something because it only started happening I believe when I updated to 4.04 or 4.05.
May 11, 2017 at 1:56 pm #791635Nikko, It took the errors away but then when I clear the cache the images actually disappear in the slider.
May 11, 2017 at 1:58 pm #791636And the layer slider menu is missing on the side of the dashboard.
May 11, 2017 at 2:01 pm #791637Nikko, I switched it back and the images come back up and the layer slider menu reappears. It was still working when I went to the site at first until you clear the cache in wprocket.
May 11, 2017 at 2:31 pm #791649Hi,
I’m very sorry for that, though the changes I made should not remove any images since it’s basically just replacing get_template_directory() to get_template_directory_uri() and you can check that on the link I gave and as for the functions you can search or google what those 2 functions are for.
Best regards,
NikkoMay 11, 2017 at 2:34 pm #791650It’s weird, you can check it out I still have the access for you up. When I change the line back to what you had, you will see the layer slider menu option on the sidebar disappears along with the error messages on the update page at the bottom and the images don’t show in the slider when looking at homepage. When I change it back to original, then menu shows back up and images appear again on homepage but so do the messages on update page.
May 11, 2017 at 5:41 pm #791775Hi,
Yes, I could see the issue, I’m just not sure how the address becomes (private content) which is causing the issue. I have checked and tried to debug but I could not see any lead :(
Best regards,
NikkoMay 11, 2017 at 8:32 pm #791892It’s strange. What is the next step then? I see a lot of people having this issue since the updates.
May 12, 2017 at 3:26 pm #792348Hi,
We apologize for the inconvenience, I can’t think of any solution at the moment, sorry :( this issue has been reported to Kriesi and our devs. Hopefully the update will be released soon.
Best regards,
NikkoMay 12, 2017 at 3:41 pm #792357Ok, great. thank you. Hopefully he can figure something out. If I somehow come up with a fix I will let you know.
May 13, 2017 at 8:06 pm #792784Hi,

Thank you for your time, patience and understandingBest regards,
BasilisJune 12, 2017 at 4:35 pm #806944The errors have come back again.
June 12, 2017 at 4:45 pm #806950I am pretty sure it starts happening after the wordpress 4.8 update.
June 13, 2017 at 4:00 pm #807544Hi SAdesignsUnltd,
Could be or could be that the Layer Slider has a new version and needs update.
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 13, 2017 at 4:31 pm #807560Hi Victoria, well hopefully you guys are looking for a patch for this. I am pretty sure it happened once I updated to 4.8. I did notice that layer slider needed an update but that only showed an issue after I updated the wordpress.
June 14, 2017 at 10:54 pm #808285Hi,
Yes Kriesi is working and will do check on it.
Best regards,
BasilisJuly 7, 2017 at 4:28 am #817571Is this still being worked on? I am surprised that it has been this long and no updates on this fix or why it keeps happening when layer slider updates it’s plugin.
