    Dear All

i hope you are all safe during this lockdown period

that was bound to happen one day, i read in few posts that sometimes wordpress upgrade goes wrong. This is what happens to my website this evening. The site is online but i can’t connect to the dashboard as i receive this message :

    “Database Update Required
WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.
The database update process may take a little while, so please be patient”

I think i will need to pay for an IT guy to help me out with the database maintenance but anyone to help me understand why that happens ? i have another website that requires a WordPress upgrade and i dont want to face the same bug. Is there anything to do to avoid such bug ?

    tanx guys

    Hey Hank,

I don’t think that is bug to be honest with, it actually needs to update the database. I had a look at your site but I can’t see the message anywhere, did you manage to get rid of it?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Hi Rikard, sorry , i eventually managed to understand what happened. i went to my host page and updated to php 7.3 and it finally worked out. i think it is mandatory to be in 7.3

i updated another website to 7.3 before wordpress upgrade and it worked immidiately without any freez.

    thank you very much
