I updated my Enfold theme by ftp from 1.7. to 2.5 and got the following message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function avia_markup_helper() in /data/24/2/33/59/2685222/user/2948887/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/textblock.php on line 77

I tried updating WordPress to 3.8 to see if that would solved the issue, but no luck. Any ideas?

    Hey winojunko!

Please try re-updating the theme via FTP and it should solve the issue
For a quick guide on updating your theme take a look at this video on updating the Enfold theme via FTP: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750

I just updated the theme from the wordpress dashboard, it killed the site
The site was stuck in maintenance, removed the .maintenance file getting blank page

No time to troubleshoot so I am reinstalling WP and the new version of the theme
Not sure I will ever trust the automatic update now, gave two fatal errors while upgrading but was too busy trying to resolve that I didn t screenshot them.

Just so you know something was very fishy with the automatic update

Thankfully this was not production but a sub folder used for testing

    Hey!

It definitely shouldn’t be happening as the update script being used is from Envato directly and is what most if not all of the themeforest themes use now (since it uses your Envato API for purchase verification).

If you do update again next time try deactivating all active plugins before and see if that helps.

    Cheers!
    Devin
