    Hi all,
Can’t quite get a grip on why I’m getting the Internal Server Error.

I’m running 4.4.1 on a fresh install of 4.9.8. I have all the default themes working fine and even added an additional 2. When I activate Enfold I get all the wp-admin settings, it’s just when I few the site I get the error 500.

I’ve not made any modifications to the code and have uploaded the theme 3 times with still no luck. I’ve also checked directory/file permissions and they too seem to be ok.

At the moment I’m out of ideas what it could be. If you’re able to have a look at it for me I’d be very appreciative.

    Thanks

    Hey maRGas86,

Do you have access to error logs? If so then please link to them here so that we can have a closer look. Also, do you know which version of PHP you are running on the server?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi there,

I’ve looked for logs but wasn’t able to find any. I even turned on debugging in wp-config but no luck.

The server is running PHP 5.3. Is there a minimum required version for this theme? If so, what version is it?

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. There is a minimum required version of PHP which is 5.6, could you try updating to that or higher please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rickard,

The server is unable to be updated to another version of PHP due to compatibility reasons.

If the server runs wordpress without any issues, how come Enfold is not compatible? Might be a good idea to list the minimum PHP requirements on the themeforest page so other people do not face the same issue.

Either way, can you please refund my purchase please?

    Many thanks.

    Hi maRGas86,

Here are the official WordPress requirements

You can request the refund at the Envato website where you bought the theme.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hello

I have read the rules surrounding refunds on themeforest and I need to talk to the theme author. Please refund my purchase price to my account.

I understand the wordpress “recommended” support of PHP 7.2. However, WordPress still runs perfectly on PHP 5.3, and so to their official themes. If you don’t want to make a note of requiring a certain level of PHP then that’s your call but it would save future situations like this.

I will appreciate your prompt refund.
    Thank you
