    Hello,

I’m not sure if this happened after the upgrade, but we are suddenly not able to access the wp-admin page anymore. Receiving an error.
I have tried to upload the newest version of enfold in the FTP, as well as renaming the plugins folder. No luck.
Thank you so much for your help!

    Hey awdenfold,

It seems the issue is related to your installation.
We would suggest to contact your hosting provider better

    Best regards,

    Hi Basilis,

Thank you for your help. I contacted GoDaddy who is our hosting provider, and they are saying that it is our issue. Is there anything more you can troubleshoot for me? I am stuck.

    Hi,

Are you sure that you are running the latest version of the theme? According to the file in private you are using a very old version? Latest version is 4.2.2.

    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

I tried uploading the newest theme version via ftp, but we-admin still doesn’t work and sometimes it makes the home page not work either (I’ve uploaded it a few times).

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback, but then you didn’t overwrite the theme since the old version is still there. Did you try following the FTP instructions here? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

If you can’t get it overwritten then we can give it a go if you like.

    Hi,

Forgot to ask you for WordPress login details as well, please post them in private so that we can try logging in.

    Best regards,

I tried overwriting the theme files but I restored the backup after when it didn’t work. Do you mind giving it a try and seeing if you have better luck with it? Really appreciate all your help.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I had a look at your FTP account again and it seems a bit messy to be honest with you. The site you are running is installed in the /pages/ directory, is there any reason for that? You also seem to have a WordPress installation in the root, what exactly is that for? I think this could be the reason for your problems. We’d be happy to try to update the theme, but it’s better to get this straightened out first.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

I didn’t realize there’s an installation in the root. Do I just need to remove these files? I’m not sure how to do it as I didn’t realize there was on there to begin with. Any chance you’re able to assist with removing it as well?

    Hi awdenfold,

You might want to hire a freelancer to clean it up for you since this is not theme related and is not covered by our support.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,

    Hi again,
I have removed the extra wordpress install and cleaned up the files. I also upgraded to the most recent theme, but still no luck. It is now a different error displayed than previous – shown in the private area. Is there anything else I can try?

    #908399

    Hi,

Thanks for that, though I’m only taken to a 404 page. Could you post a screenshot of the problem maybe? I’m not sure how to tackle your problem to be honest.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thanks for your quick reply! I need to be able to access the wp-admin. Before I updated the theme, it gave me the error. Now it redirects to a 404 page. I need to find a way to log in to WordPress admin.

    Hi Victoria,
Moved all of the files to /pages/ but still no luck.

    Hi awdenfold,

Do you have any backup files from before?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    #909328

Unfortunately I don’t – the last backup was from the previous theme.

    Hi,

Then there is not a lot we can do to bring things back.
Please ask the hosting provider if they do.

    Best regards,
    Basilis
