Hi guys,
I can’t seem to find the reason why enfold won’t install on my client’s wordpress. I’ve tried other themes and they install fine. I purchased enfold again, on behalf of a client and so it’s frustrating that it won’t work.
Please can you help me? I’ve got access to his 1&1 account and his PHP settings are in the private section.Don’t worry, I’ve used the enfold.zip folder and have deactivated all the plugins before trying to install, still no joy!
This is quite urgent as I need to get the theme up and running so I can start on creating his new website.
http://www.syniadsolutions.co.uk is the domain but he is currently running a different theme – which has to stay active for now. Thanks,
Krissie
February 23, 2015 at 12:16 pm #400559Hi Krissie!
Please try installing Enfold via FTP – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/install-enfold-theme-with-ftp/
Also increasing the allocated memory to 128M should be helpful: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
You can contact your service provider and they can do it for you.Cheers!
YigitFebruary 23, 2015 at 12:31 pm #400581Hey Yigit! :)
Thanks for a speedy response. I’ve looked up 1&1 and they don’t seem to allow increases. However, I’ve emailed them to see what they say. Why does installing the theme via FTP make any difference?
Should I install it after the memory is increased? What happens if 1&1 won’t increase the memory??
February 23, 2015 at 12:55 pm #400595Hi!
Memory limit is currently set to 61M, more might be required that is why we recommend increasing it to 128M :)
You will not have errors, warnings such as “are you sure you want to do this” while installing via FTPCheers!
YigitFebruary 23, 2015 at 1:01 pm #400598Ah okay, so wordpress is just being cautious about memory, rather than just going ahead and installing it? Is enfold over bloated then? Seems funny that I can install other themes though. Is this a known problem with 1&1 customers?
:)

Not entirely sure why WP is doing that, did you have any luck with FTP though?

RikardFebruary 26, 2015 at 9:43 pm #403004Hi guys, the provider has increased the PHP to 81m. I’ve asked my client to try and get it increased to 128m, so we’ll see what happens. I’ve not had any luck with the ftp either. The host is 1&1, do you have any known problems with them and enfold?
February 27, 2015 at 10:20 am #403288Hi!
What happening when you try to install via FTP? No access? Please keep us posted on your progress.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 27, 2015 at 10:39 am #403290I’m just trying to upload the theme via filezilla now. Is it right that there are nearly 2000 files????
When I unzip the enfold theme, there are to files that show up when you click on enfold… MACOSX and enfold.. should both be copied over?
Thanks

February 27, 2015 at 12:52 pm #403367I have managed to install Enfold. I’m going to be using Theme Test Drive to prepare the enfold theme for my client whilst his current theme still runs. Great way to work on a new theme without any downtime!
Thanks for your help guys. -
