Since the name of the thread speaks for itself I will start with the problem.
For some reason after the update the translated page (English) of the main page (German) seem to malfunction.
After some changes have been made to the page and the language page has been updated through the WPML plugin the translated page starts to load some imagery and settings deleted long before.
In addition all translated media dissapeared and both pages are in its original language (Menu and footer stay translated).
I feel like my head will break thinking of what could be the problem any longer. Thus I was wondering if anybody could look at the page in question: https://shop.pearlsmile.com/de/
September 1, 2020 at 5:05 pm #1242556Hey Alex,
Thank you for the inquiry.
We are not seeing the issue in the page right now, maybe because you’ve already fixed it or we just don’t know what to look for. Is there a staging or development version of the site? Additional info such or screenshots of the issue should help.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 1, 2020 at 8:01 pm #1242584Hi Ismael,
Thank you for a reply.
Unfortunately I reverted back to the before settings as I could not afford waiting for help any longer as the shop was online the whole time.
I may however create a test page again for you to see the issue. At the moment I have updated to the latest versions of everything and thus have no choice but to find a solution.
The quick fix I did was to turn off the “Use WPML’s Translation Editor” at the page setting on the right side of the page editor. However this is a very counter effective fix as this does mean that each page needs to be made twice from the scratch.
Last but not least, I created a duplicate inquiry and was not able to delete it, sorry about that…

Apologies for two many messages. Here is the link to the new test page: https://shop.pearlsmile.com/de/test-page-for-wpml-german/. As you will be able to see the content made through the page builder stays the same (German) but the menus and everything works as it should i.e. changes from German to English.

September 6, 2020 at 11:59 am #1243717I do have a kind of the same problem.
We translated everything with the WPML online-translator editor, which redirects you to the wpml-cloud.
Here is our translation of the specific page “background”: https://plantgrowsave.org/de/ueber-uns/hintergrund/
Image of translation:
But it’s not to be seen finally on the page it self. Either I look in my page in the backend nor in the frontend.
Even If I use the not the advanced cloud-based online-editor. But the on-page editor. It doesn’t result in an translated page:

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!September 7, 2020 at 10:56 am #1243900Hi,
@PearlSmile: Sorry for the delay. In the new test page above, did you add any elements or content other than the text block? Please post the login details in the private field so that we could access the dashboard and test the translations. Thank you for your patience.
@jaciekeeley: Thank you for the detailed inquiry. Is it working properly when you’re using the default string translations? Please open a new thread and post the site details in the private field so that we can check the site. These documentations might help.

IsmaelSeptember 7, 2020 at 1:59 pm #1243980Hi,
For the testing purposes I have only made the text block but it shows the problem quite well.
Earlier, all pages of the website once updated would pull up data and setting from 6 months ago or so (for me). That was particularly strange, as I had no backups of that older version of the website saved anywhere (to the best of my knowledge). When a new page is created however, the string translation does not work and all the data is pulled up from the original language.
I am thinking that this incompatibility is associated with the version of Enfold not being compatible with the new version of WPML or vice versa. The older version of WPML worked although fine with updated WordPress installation and an updated Enfold theme.
The latest version of WPML that worked with the newest installations of WordPress and Enfold are: wpml-string-translation.3.0.11, wpml-media-translation.2.5.5, wpml-translation-management.2.9.8.
After the WPML is updated to the latest version the pages are not being translated anymore. The pages that have been translated before stay translated until the page is modified, then all the translations are set to the original language as well as the original settings of the whole page (excluding header and footer).
Hope this information helps.
Looking forward hearing from you. Also let me know if you would need the login credentials as well.

AlexanderSeptember 9, 2020 at 6:43 am #1244559Hi,
Thank you for the clarification.
We might not be understanding it fully because we do not know the old from the current settings. Please post the login details in the private field so that we could test the translations and check the settings. It would be better if we could have access to the staging or development version of the site if it is available.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 9, 2020 at 1:23 pm #1244627Hi Ismael,
I am not hosting a staging version of the website unfortunately.
The access to the website is written in the private content. Thank you very much in advance.
