For your information: I updated a site in progress on the staging server to version 4.4 and many parts got broken.
The major issue was that the dimensions were distorted even though they were the same in the Enfold settings. Set at 1350 it displayed much narrower—with all the settings the same. This distorded the layout and design of the site.
Another issue is that the update changed some of the type styles and colors. I assume it was not reading the CSS well. And some of the widgets turned into code and the update did not read them at all.
I have restored the old site, but these are serious issues and it looks like version 4.4 is not ready for use yet.
Thought you should know.

May 24, 2018 at 2:55 am #961310I had also some weird experience with 4.4
When saving changes to a plugin WP came up with a errormessage, asking me whether to open “wp-admin/options-general.php” in notepad++.
Lucky that i could jump back from a backup from this afternoon. 4.4 has definetly some issues and as Michael said seems not ready to use.
I need to apologise – there is a server error on the one WordPress installation i was working on. So not an Enfold Problem.
By the way: I love all the GDPR Stuff. Very nice done! Sorry for the hassle…

May 24, 2018 at 3:05 am #961312I don’t want to jinx it, but 4.4 is running fine on my site right now. Most of the issues stem from people updating within the dashboard instead of deleting the enfold theme folder and installing a fresh copy.
Hope yours gets sorted out.

RobMay 24, 2018 at 6:26 am #961350Rob, why would we not be able to update from within the dashboard? The past couple updates I have done were through the dashboard and it did crash the site each time (PHP 7.0). Not touching 4.4 until they get this figured out, costs me $150 each time I have to call the hosting company IT guy to get it fixed.

May 24, 2018 at 6:50 am #961353Hi David, what version of Enfold are you on now?
The reason I ask is the support forum has been filled with people who had their sites go down when they went from 4.2x to 4.3x or 4.4x because of the aformentioned issue around old files being left behind or partially overwritten.
Once you get to 4.3 you can resume dashboard updates, but the update from 4.2 to 4.3 or 4.4 is likely to fail in the dashboard… at least it did in mine.
May 24, 2018 at 3:49 pm #961598Rob, thanks for the info, im on 4.3.2 now. You are right, hosting IT guy said theme was looking for files that did not exist, but he was able to get it fixed and updated. Will try uploading 4.4 and fingers crossed!
