    Hello, I just wanted to update from the theme enfold but the message got the all adapted css file, etc. are overwritten. What exactly will be overwritten with the update, or which files and settings within wordpress must I back up and then back again?

    Hi Holger,

    If you are not using a child theme then non of your theme settings will be overwritten, but all changes you have made to any theme files (css, js, php etc.) will be overwritten. If you want to make sure to keep all your edits to files like that on updates then please use a child theme: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/create-a-child-theme/
