Hi there,
I just updated to the latest version of Enfold. For some reason the background color of the testimonial slider is now white – this is the same color as the text. The background color should be a blue color. This hasn’t happened in previous updates. Any idea what is broken?
Note. The URL is: https://affiliatemanager.expert/. (The testimonial slider is towards the bottom of the page).
Thanks for any/all help!
July 22, 2021 at 7:52 am #1311359Hey jamesnardell,
Where exactly did you set the background colour? In the Color Section or in the Testimonials element? If you need further help, then please include admin WordPress login details in private, so that we can have a closer look.
Best regards,
RikardJuly 22, 2021 at 9:26 am #1311392The background color is in the color section. Please see WordPress login details in the section below.
There’s also another thing I can’t make sense of. On the home page all the text is missing in the blocks under ‘Here are some of the areas where we can add value beyond simple affiliate program management.’ The headlines are showing. The text is not. It’s been replaced by ‘Click to add your own text here’.
The text is in the WordPress CMS. It’s just no longer displaying…
July 23, 2021 at 12:07 pm #1311830Hi,
Thanks for that. I’m not sure why your Color Sections are losing their colour to be honest with you, but I’ve added this to your Quick CSS as a temporary solution:
.home #testimonials, .home #av_section_2 { background-color: #00a2ed !important; }
I’ve fixed the Icon boxes for you as well, please review your site.

RikardJuly 23, 2021 at 1:08 pm #1311865Thanks, Rikard! You’re amazing.
On reflection, I also updated WordPress to the latest version [5.8]. Might this be what caused the issues?
I’m now scared to run updates…
July 23, 2021 at 1:14 pm #1311869One last question. How can I make the text color in the testimonials section white?
Name Font Color
Subtitle Font Color
Content Font ColorAll 3 of these are set to #ffffff. Yet this is not what’s displaying on the webpage.
July 25, 2021 at 8:36 am #1312181Hi,
Thanks for the update. I’m seeing all the text as white on my end, except for the link. Could you try loading the site in an incognito or private browser window to see if that helps please? If not, then please post a screenshot of the problem.
About updates; they are the most common cause of things going wrong on a WordPress website. I would highly recommend that you copy your live site to a staging site, where you can perform updates first. If things work as expected there, then you can update your production site after that. If things should go wrong on the staging site, then your live site will still work as it did before.

RikardJuly 25, 2021 at 11:28 am #1312202Let’s take a step back because I think the problem I’m going to outline is the core issue.
Check out this page: https://affiliatemanager.expert/choosing-an-affiliate-management-agency/
None of the Color Sections are displaying the color assigned. They are all white. This means the page looks a mess…
Have you got any idea what is causing this?
Something has broken since I updated to WordPress 5.8 and/or the new version of Enfold.

Thanks for the update, and sorry for the problem. I see the problem on your site, but I can’t reproduce it on a test installation running the same version as you are, so I’m not really sure what is causing it unfortunately. I’ve asked the rest of the team for help with this though. If you would like some custom CSS to rectify this while we are investigating the problem, then please let us know.

Custom CSS to rectify this issue would work.
Cheers,
James
July 28, 2021 at 4:31 am #1312887Hi James,
Thanks for the update. I’ve added custom CSS for you under Appearance->Customizer in WordPress, since the styling from the theme doesn’t seem to be applying. This might be the reason as to why the backgrounds in the element options are not applying, but I’m not sure what is causing it unfortunately. If you would like more help in investigating why it’s not working, then please give us permission to temporarily disable plugins. Also please share FTP login details with us, in case we should need that.
Best regards,
RikardJuly 28, 2021 at 4:57 am #1312894Hi Rikard,
This message gives you permission to temporarily disable plugins (to investigate the issue further).
FTP login is a little tricky as I use Google Cloud for the hosting. What I can do (if necessary) is help you setup a FTP account per the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDcjM7BySo0

July 30, 2021 at 5:54 am #1313372Hi James,
I tried deactivating plugins, but it’s not possible to deactivate WP Rocket for some reason. Could you try on your end as well, to verify the behaviour please? I very much doubt that this problem is caused by the theme. If you want to verify that, then please activate one of the default WordPress themes, and try deactivating the plugin again. Also, it might be a good idea to reach out to your hosting provider about this problem.
We can try to help you out if you want to roll back to an earlier version of the theme via FTP, but it might be easier if you could do it yourself. We can provide you with the theme files, if you want to give it a go yourself.

When I check out my website in certain browsers I see lots of red lines. Have you got any idea what is causing this?
See a screenshot through the link below.

August 14, 2021 at 5:55 am #1316703Hi,
Thanks for the update. I checked your site using Chrome as well, but I can’t see any red lines on my end. You might be getting locally cached result, could you try to load the site in an incognito window to avoid any local caching please?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 2, 2021 at 4:56 am #1319426Hi Rikard,
Please can you check again. I’m now seeing the issue – red lines – through Edge, Firefox, and Chrome (in incognito mode). Plus on my Samsung cell phone’s browser.

James Nardell
September 3, 2021 at 12:31 pm #1319636Hi James,
Your site is asking for a 2FA code after logging in, could you share that with us in private please?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 4, 2021 at 4:59 am #1319705Hi Rikard,
I have just disabled the 2FA.

James
September 7, 2021 at 4:21 am #1319919Hi James,
Thanks for that. There was some CSS in Quick CSS which was causing that. I removed it, but it still applying to your site unfortunately. It’s likely due to caching, so I tried to disable your caching plugin temporarily, but it’s not possible to deactivate it for some reason. Could you try to deactivate it on your end, to see if you have any luck please?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 7, 2021 at 4:25 am #1319920Are you referring to WP Rocket, Rikard?
Note. Now the testimonials section is not displaying properly through Edge and Firefox.
September 8, 2021 at 4:05 am #1320036Hi Rikard,
The testimonials section is effectively broken through Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Can you look into this, please?
Cheers,
James
September 8, 2021 at 8:08 am #1320064Hi James,
Yes, I’m referring to WP Rocket. The testimonials section works when logged in to WordPress, but not when logged out. This is another indication of a caching problem. The red lines are not visible when logged out either. Why is it not possible to deactivate plugins on your site?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 8, 2021 at 10:18 am #1320090Hi Rikard,
The login details you have are the ones that I use.
If I go to: Plugins > WP Rocket > Deactivate, it works.
Note. I went into safe mode and it said:
“Click “Apply Safe Mode” to quickly disable LazyLoad, File Optimization, Embeds and CDN options. Then check your site to see if the issue has resolved.”
This seemed to make everything work.
Frankly, I’m nonplussed. Is this a common issue/problem?
September 9, 2021 at 12:57 pm #1320253Hi,
Thanks for the update. Deactivating WP Rocket is not working on my end, I’m not sure why. If safe mode worked then one of the things it removed is likely causing problems on your site. I would suggest that you deactivate everything which involves caching/minification/CDN in the plugin, then activate them one by one, to see if you start seeing any problems after each activation. Problems like these are very common when using caching plugins, yes.

RikardSeptember 10, 2021 at 1:01 pm #1320397Hi Rikard,
One final question. When I check out this page: https://affiliatemanager.expert/our-story/ the header image is not displaying. Is this an issue with caching or CSS? (The image does display when I preview the page in WordPress).
Note. I have tried on many browsers.
Cheers,
James
September 11, 2021 at 1:35 pm #1320523Hi James,
Thanks for the update. That image seems to be a theme problem, I’ve added this filter in your functions.php file, and it works after that:
/** * Filter to skip css file generation. * You can add logic to skip for certain pages/posts only. * * @since 4.8.6.1 * @param boolean $create * @return boolean true | false or anything else to skip generation of css file */ function custom_avf_post_css_create_file( $create ) { return false; } add_filter( 'avf_post_css_create_file', 'custom_avf_post_css_create_file', 10, 1 );
We introduced a new file structure with version 4.8.4, and the new folder might not be read/writeable on your server. If you want us to check that out further for you, then please include FTP login details in private as well.
Best regards,
Rikard -
