    Dear Kriesi,

    since I updated the Enfold theme the portfolio setting column in the advanced layout editor doesn’t work anymore. Pressing the settings toggle button found at the top right of the portfolio page doesn’t do anything. I appreciate that the support linked to my licence has expired however this is an issue introduced by your theme update so I’d like to ask your support anyway. I also appreciate this is your pre-sale email however I can’t raise a ticket in the forum as I get a message saying that my support licence has expired.

    Please help.

    Regards,
    Patrizio

    Hey Patrizio Saliani,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    What do you mean by “portfolio setting column” and “settings toggle button”? Could you please provide a screenshot of these elements? If the site has not been updated to version 5.6.8, we recommend upgrading the theme immediately and then toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings afterward. This upgrade might help resolve the issue you’re currently experiencing.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

    the site was working fine until I updated it to version 5.6.8. Since then, the settings sidebar of the portfolio items page has disappeared. Normally that sidebar is found on the right hand side of the page, and it can be toggled on or off by pressing the relevant button at the top right of the page. I took a screenshot for you.

    I circled in red the settings sidebar toggle button, when it’s black it as in the screenshot the settings column should be displayed on the right side of the screen. Instead, it’s not being displayed and pressing the toggle button makes no effect. Furthermore, if I switch the editor from advanced to basic the page settings column magically re-appears.

    I was able to reproduce the same issue across a variety of browsers including Chrome and Firefox for mac osx 13.4 (Ventura)

    Many thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Patrizio

    Hi Patrizio,

    Thanks for the screenshot. I tried reproducing the problem on a test installation, but haven’t been able to. Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

    Thanks for that. I do see the problem on your site, but I’m not able to reproduce it on a test installation. There are no error messages either, so I’m not sure what is causing it unfortunately. What happens if you temporarily deactivate all plugins?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi, I have disabled all the plugins just now and the issue is still there. Inspecting the portfolio edit page I see several warning and a error messages related to tinymce.js. Have a look and let me know. Thanks

    I also noticed that there is a legacy of issues between TinyMCE and the Nefold theme, strikingly similar issue is found here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-tinymce-advanced-any-known-issues-or-is-it-me/

    Hi,

    I’m not see any warnings or error messages when editing a portfolio item on your site, I can’t reproduce the problem on a test installation, and no other users have reported the same problem. With that in mind, then problem is likely local to your site. Please give us step-by-step instructions on how to see the error messages and warnings you are seeing.

    The thread you linked to is almost 10 years old, what you are experiencing is likely not related.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi, although the issue is present across all browsers for some reason the Chrome inspect tool doesn’t detect it. The Firefox inspect tool does find it and it is more helpful. Please find the screengrab I have taken from it in the private content. I hope it helps.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    Have you tried disabling Fullscreen mode? The settings panel shows fine when fullscreen mode is disabled.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1424112

    Hi, yes disabling the fullscreen mode displays the settings panel which is a great alternative! Thanks for finding it for me. It would be great also if you could look into the issue with a view of resolving it. Perhaps a theme update? I’d be happy to keep your temporary account active in the meantime. Let me know

    Adding to my previous message: the Tinymce error is still there even with the fullscreen mode off.

    Hi,

    We don’t see the error while editing one of the portfolio items. Do you notice anything that is not working while editing?

    We found out that the side panel is not displaying when the editor is expanded because of this css code.

    body.block-editor-page.avia-advanced-editor-enabled.avia-block-editor-expand.is-fullscreen-mode .interface-interface-skeleton__sidebar {
        display: none;
    }

    To override it, please add this code in the functions.php file.

    add_action('admin_head', 'ava_admin_head_mod');

    function ava_admin_head_mod() {
      echo '<style>
        body.block-editor-page.avia-advanced-editor-enabled.avia-block-editor-expand.is-fullscreen-mode .interface-interface-skeleton__sidebar {
            display: block !important;
            z-index: 99999 !important;
        }
      </style>';
    }

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael, thanks for identifying the issue preventing the settings sidebar to display. I applied the code as instructed and it worked. So thank you for that! Said that, the uncaught error from Tinymce is still present, is it something you can help with?

    Hi!

    Thank you for following up.

    Said that, the uncaught error from Tinymce is still present, is it something you can help with?

    We were not able to reproduce the issue on our end as mentioned above, so we are not really sure what is causing it. Do you actually experience any error while using the TinyMCE or editing any of the pages?

    Cheers!
    Ismael
