I’m helping a friend – that had a wordpress site built with enfold.
His programmer left him suddenly a year ago with enfold 4.2 installed and no API key to update it.

How much will it cost form him to upgrade it.

    Thanks
    Avi

    Hey Avi,

If you don’t have a license or access to the Themeforest account which was used to buy the theme then you would have to purchase another license unfortunately. You can do so here: https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990

    Best regards,

    Hello

Managed to find the API key which is now called Item Purchase Code.

enterd it to the theme but the theme writes: “No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.2)”

    Can’t it be updated?

    Hi Avi,

Envato has updated their API and we have switched to it in Enfold 4.5. Older versions of Envato API was deprecated and no longer works reliable. Enfold 4.4.1 was the last Enfold version that used old API version and that is why theme needs to updated manually and start using Personal Tokens instead of API keys from now on to update our themes from WordPress dashboard.

Please refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/#post-1032609.

    Hello

I have done as written in the link you sent me – and loaded the new enfold them – but the result was all the site was stripped of all designs

Tried to export theme settings from current site and import to new – it gave a OK message – but it changed nothing.

    See links in private area

    Please help us

    Hi Avi,

Thanks for the update. Please post admin login details in private to both sites, so that we can have a closer look and try for ourselves.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. What happens if you disable your caching/performance plugins? If these are dev sites then there’s not much point in having them active.

    hello

The TST site is a duplicate of the original stie including all other plugins.
All the plugins worked fine with the previous version and should work with the new one.

I tried to delete the cache but it did not help. You can try to temporary disable on TST2 but the problem is not there. The problem is with the definitions for design that where deleted during the upgrade (by your instructions) – so the help is needed to migrate these designs from the old site to the new one. The export (enfold 4.2) /import (to new enfold 4.7) did not work – so there where other definitions.

    Hi Avi,

Thanks for the update and sorry for the problem. I can’t see that the new sites is stripped of all design, it looks almost identical to the old site. Though there are some differences, like the first section under the fullwidth slider. On the old site, the contact form is on the left, and on the new one it’s on the right. That seems to correspond with the layout in on the backend though. Did this change automatically or was it done manually? Please see screenshot in private for what I see on my end on the new site.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi
The right-left is the only plus we flound untill now with the upgrade – as it is RTL Support with is very important for hebrew and the old enfold did not have the support.

Part from that if you look at the homepage you can see a HUGE diffrance with styles – and the innerpages are also stripped from their border and the custom fields also vanished. See the attached screen capture of both site side by side.

Please help us to restor the designs on the new enfold so we can continue – this is a major setback for site updates and marketing.

You kind help is needed ASAP.

    Thanks in advanced,
    Avi

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

Looks like a lot of the css styles from the old site are missing on the other or the new site. Where did you add the other css modifications aside from the Quick CSS field?

This css code for example is missing from the new site.

    div#workshops_section article {
        background: rgba(255,255,255,.93);
    }

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello

We followed your instructions for upgrading enfold 4.2 to enfold 4.7 (listed above link you gave us: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/#post-1032609)

This led to the currect situation in which there is a big differance between the sites.
It appears your template design import/export does not work.

We paid for a new licence to upgrade and we need the solution from you for a smooth and seemless migration that was promessed on the first inqury on june 21 (see above)

Your kind help is needed ASAP

    Regards
    Avi

    Hi,

As we’ve said earlier, a lot of the custom css modifications are missing in the new site. We checked the Quick CSS field but those css modification are not there, so they were probably added, by another developer, in the child theme’s style.css file or the Appearance > Customize > Custom CSS panel. Have you had someone else work on the site previously?

We couldn’t check it properly because the Appearance > Editor panel on both sites are not accessible. To restore the site, you have to locate those css modifications, copy them and apply them again in the new site.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello,

We did not make such modification.

You have a problem with the upgrade process which ran off all the previous template.

If you had told us this is the process in advanced we would have passed the site to another template with all the work included and not buy this template again.

Can You help us or not?

    Avi

    Hi,

We did not make such modification.

Sorry for the troubles. The previous developer added the css modifications in the old site to adjust the default style of the elements such as the post items. Unfortunately, we are not sure where the custom css code were added because the stylesheets are minified or compressed, and we couldn’t access the old site (mqgtst) using the user account above. The Appearance > Editor panel is not accessible either.

    Please check the screenshot below.

Please disable the css compression first and post the login details of the old site so that we can check the dashboard and hopefully locate the css modifications.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
