Just updated one of my sites to the 3.7.1 version.

The Google Maps option in the Media section does not work properly.

Placed a fix for now (static image) but would like the “live” link to Google Maps.

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

Do we use this same Google Maps API for all sites? or is it specific to one client website?

    #670025

Pcarran83, I think Google would prefer separate APIs for each site because they’ve made the claim that the API implementation is for security purposes. However, if your maps are going to be shown publicly, I can’t see how it would be an issue to use the same API over and over again.

Maybe the Enfold team has add’l info on this.

bytesizemedia, I only have installed in one site so far. This would be good info to know for the future sites.
    Thank you for your input.

    #670076

    Hey!

Creating new API key for each site would be better.

Well Yigit, I’m back! The Google Map API key worked fine for the first website but now the Google interface looks different and we need to choose the type of Key: Server Key, Browser Key, Android Key or IOS Key. I chose Browser Key because it looked the closest to your screen shot directions. Then I continued the process to receive the Key.

Once in Enfold, my map flashes for a split second upon load but I have an error message of:
    Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

    Can you help?

    #672483

    Hi,

    @Pcarran83
: Please create a new thread, post the url to the site and the login details so that we can check it. Make sure that you follow the instructions provided in this <a href=”http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/
“>link and purged any kind of cache.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

I am having the same issue. I updated my theme and registered a browser API key and it flashes with my map then says “oops something went wrong”. Also the Google API page says something about referrer websites? Are there any instructions on this within the Enfold theme documentation or is it not necessary?

I ended up putting an embedded google maps iframe in for now.

    #682892

    Ismael,

I have followed the instructions 5 times to generate a key over the last 4 weeks and none of them have worked.
Is there any update on this issue? Seems like it has been a problem since Enfold 3.5.4 earlier this Summer.

    Thanks
    Jon

    Hi,

We need to take a closer look Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    Login credentials include:

    • The URL to the login screen.
    • A valid username (with full administration capabilities).
    • As well as a password for that username.
    • permission to deactivate plugins if necessary.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    here you go

    #683369

    Hi,

I tried to troubleshoot this issue but the login credentials you provided do not work for me. Would you mind checking once again and then send us working login credentials?

The user role for the account you send us should be set to ‘administrator’ so we can try to disable all plugins and add custom code (if necessary) to resolve the issue.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    #683371

    just reset the password

    #683530

    Hey!

Thank you for the credentials, we have updated your API key in Settings > Google API Key plugin. please review your site and let us know if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Vinay,

    Thank you so much.
Was there something I can do in the future to fix this? I noticed that another one of my sites is doing the same thing and I have been waiting to update Enfold on a few more until I knew the problem was fixable.

    Thanks
    jon

here is my other one that isn’t working, have updated to Enfold 3.8, and it has a working API Key

On the sites I am running Enfold 3.5.4 on where the maps are currently working, will they still work after updating to 3.8 or is there something special I have to do in addition to generating an Google API Key?

    Thank You,
    Jon

    #686130

    Hi Jon,

As long as you have a valid Google Maps API Key filled out in the theme options you should not have to do anything else.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #689961

I updated to 3.8 and this API issue does not work.

    Thanks,

    Leyden

    #689968

I have tried multiple times to put in the API code and add a map. It’s not working. Have these issues been addressed in 3.8?

    Thanks, Leyden

    #690423

    @Rikard,

I have a valid API Key and it is not working even after I redid it.
Out of 12 sites I have only had issues with http://www.ultimatefamilyhaircare.net/ & http://www.trailautobodyandmarine.com/.

    @Vinay
logged into the 1st of the site and did something to fix it, but the 2nd still isn’t working.
Any idea on what he did the first the first one? The credentials for the 2nd one are below.

I have Enfold set up on about 12 customer sites and these were the only 2 that had issues so far.
The 1st one started with Enfold 3.5.4 and has been updated a few times, the 2nd one started with 3.7 and both are on 3.8.

    Thanks
    Jon
