Hi
We have a grid of team members and each grid item includes a toggle element that when clicked shows the persons bio.
Right now when the toggle opens all the content/rows below get pushed down
Is it possible to have the opened toggle container show but overlay (on top) of the other content. Would this cause any issues?
I’ve tried setting the .js_active .toggle_wrap z-index to 999 but no joy
any ideas please :)
Thanks so much

Can you give us a link to your site? also temporary admin access so we can inspect further. Just post the details in the Private Content section when you reply.
Best regards,

October 19, 2016 at 12:07 pm #701189PS is it possible that it pushes the footer area down but not other team members as am wondering if will look very weird if it shoots down below and past the footer. thanks so much :)
October 20, 2016 at 10:29 am #701779Hi guys
Can see you logged in a few times… any ideas? I have to get this site finished and live over weekend :)If not then maybe I can make those accordions in to lightboxes that pop up instead.
thanks
JonathanOctober 20, 2016 at 3:20 pm #701898Hi Jonathan!
Sorry I have missed this. I have tried to do what you want by testing in the browser but it’s a bit complicated and will require to have classes for each team member as the first team member must have a higher z-index value (also with mixture of max-height and overflow:visible), so it will just overlap and also the complexity is also added by having team member’s on the last row that should push the footer instead of just floating, there are 2 problems however why it’s not a good idea:
- Adding New Team Members – you will need to readjust every time a team member is added
- Responsive Versions – example mobile it will be 2 columns instead of 4, you will need to re-evaluate again team member’s who will be using the floating bio and not.
The only thing I can suggest is to use a popup box or lightbox for the content of bio or create a specific page for a team member and link it with the + icon. I apologize for the late reply.
Best regards,
NikkoOctober 20, 2016 at 3:34 pm #701919Hi Nikko
Thank you so much for taking a look and taking the time to offer suggestions. Very helpful :)
I think I’ll go back to the client and advise against the toggles
kind regards
