Tiny MCE is great when I’m not in Avia – but when I switch to an Avia text box, I get an extreme vanilla editor – essentially exactly what we have available here in the forums, almost verbatim, plus an Add Media button. In a regular WP text box, I get the complete MCE text editor… cannot figure out what is up here. Am I missing a setting or a checkbox, or is there an incompatibility or what? I’m on Enfold 3.04, TinyMCE 4.1.7, WP 4.1. Is there a better text editor that’s known to be compatible? The MCE dev is not overly helpful.
Thanks in advance!!
Stefanie
December 22, 2014 at 2:22 am #371385Hi stefaniesomers!
Thank you for using Enfold.
Looks like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as stated on our support policy due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not included on the theme package will need to be directed to the plugin author.
Thank you for your understanding.

IsmaelDecember 22, 2014 at 2:55 am #371395Hi Ismael,
I understand that completely, and I’m sorry if sounded as though I was requesting support for MCE. I was not. (although I have seen the fact that issues exist with specific plugins addressed here before) If you’ll re-read my complete question however, you’ll see that I also asked “Is there a better text editor that’s known to be compatible?” Is that something that you might be able to answer? Or is anyone in the community able to suggest one where you are not?
Thank you.December 22, 2014 at 6:47 pm #371638Hi!
Sorry, I personally have no experience with any other text editor. I recommend to just try out any other plugin, which suits to you.
Cheers!
AndyJune 16, 2015 at 2:56 pm #460064Hello,
I have the same issue with Enfold & TinyMCE Advanced, both actual versions. TinyMCE Advanced works with other Themes (I have several WP-Installations) without any problems. After install TinyMCE Advanced on WP with Enfold, I have several problems with the post’s edit screen.
1) I can’t open the Screen Options to enable the excerpt-box
2) I can’t change the publish date
3) I can’t close the boxes at the right, I don’t need like Template or Tags
Today I installed new WP with Enfold three times. All the same. Are there any incompatibility between Enfold & TinyMCE Advanced?Claudia
June 17, 2015 at 1:33 pm #460735Hey!
Do you have the latest version of the theme? If you have the latest version and it’s not working then yes, there might be a compatibility issue between the theme and the plugin. Unfortunately, as stated on the previous post, we don’t provide support for third party plugins so your best chance of fixing this is to contact the plugin author or hiring a freelance developer. Anyway, you can use the default tinymce editor which, imo, is more than enough to do whatever you want to do in a post or page, plus you have the advance layout builder and the shortcode wand to help you with the layout process.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 18, 2015 at 5:25 am #461072Hey Claudia – ~
I got tagged on this since the original question was mine. This is really odd.. I don’t have any of the issues you specifically mentioned, never have, even when it was totally messed up. I have been able to get TinyMCEAdvanced to work well, about 99% of the time. Sometimes it will just hang up, but I honestly don’t think it has anything to do with Enfold. I went through the process of disabling all of my plugins, and re-enabling all of them one at a time. I didn’t come up with anything that seemed to be in conflict, but that process itself seemed to “jumpstart” TinyMCE somehow. I suggest you try that – Disable everything, then bring up each one in turn. Can’t hurt.
Keep in mind that TinyMCE is a free plugin. Sometimes you get what you pay for.June 18, 2015 at 2:13 pm #461316 -
