Can you try to install and activate this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/
Wordpress 5.5 has made a major change which includes the removal of jQuery migrate plugin which is used by many plugins and themes, including the Enfold theme, with this plugin jQuery migrate is plugged in back to the site and most likely would fix that issue. This incompatibility issue was fixed beginning with Enfold 4.7.6.2 so we suggest to update to the latest version of Enfold so you can deactivate and remove this plugin unless some plugins haven’t updated yet for WP 5.5.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 11, 2020 at 3:49 pm #1245166ok, the menu returned, but I can’t update the theme, as it still goes with the apikey, and i can’t see my apikeys anymore. I tried to put in my token, but it doesn’t give me the possibility to update and gives me a lot of warnings, guess related to this old version of the theme.
September 11, 2020 at 4:49 pm #1245188Hi BlueSolution,
Try to use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/ and do the following steps:- Make sure this plugin is installed and activated.
- Download zip file of your theme’s most recent version.
- Log in to WordPress as and Admin and go to Appearance > Themes.
- Click on the ADD NEW button.
- Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
- Click BROWSE and choose your zip file you downloaded.
- Click the INSTALL NOW button.
If it fails for some reason, you can do manual updating via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/#update-via-ftp (I would suggest via cPanel since FTP is slow)
Let us know if it helps.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 11, 2020 at 7:04 pm #1245216I just don’t know which is the exact right enfold download that i have to download, having only the api key number. I have an Enfold theme for each website, but i don’t know how to choose the right one, or doesn’t it matter?
September 12, 2020 at 10:14 am #1245302Hi BlueSolution,
You’re still using Enfold 3.8 which is already an outdated version.
The current version is Enfold 4.7.6.3, and you won’t be able to update it via Theme Options because Envato has already disabled updates via API key and is now using tokens, so it’s not possible to do using the usual process, that’s why I suggested the solution above.
Also since you are updating from a very old version, I would highly suggest a backup as unexpected issues might arise.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 14, 2020 at 8:45 am #1245681Yes, ok but I would like to know if i can use one of my recent Enfold, that I know i will be able to update for sure, or does it have to be the exact enfold that i bought for the exact website?
September 14, 2020 at 9:57 am #1245692Hi BlueSolution,
I would only suggest the most recent version which is 4.7.6.3 as older versions (except 4.7.6.2) is not fully compatible with WordPress 5.5.
Regarding to your question, it doesn’t matter which site it is for as long as you have downloaded it from themeforest, you can use it.
However, when it comes to theme registration you need to specifically generate the token using the account you used to purchase it.
Here’s the link on how you can generate the envato personal token: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#how-to-generate-a-envato-personal-token
Theme registration is important because it validates your purchase and allows you to do the theme updates.Best regards,
