    Hello,

I am currently using a very old version of enfold on our site 1.3.1 and I didn’t know if there was a way to update it for free so I purchased the new version 3.0. When I try to add the zip file to my wordpress dashboard it says that the Destination folder already exists. Theme install failed.

I understand it is the same theme but as it is a different version I would like to have the old theme still working for the site while I add the new purchased theme to the dashboard. Otherwise how am I supposed to transfer the content? I am not going to change over the content myself for fear of losing the content so I have a online freelancer to go in and do this for me.

Is there any way to easily add the new theme to our dashboard and to transfer the content to the new dashboard?

    Please help I’m a newbie!

    Hi dclgrp!

Please try to update the theme via FTP – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
and if you would like to move your existing installation to another server please see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/move-from-a-local-installation-to-a-live-server/

    Regards,

    Hey Yigit,

I’m not overly familiar with FTP but I can try. I’m just worried I will mess something up and overwrite the content. Because I already have content on the website does this mean I have modified files in the theme? See time on video at 3:05 – Do I need to drag and drop individual files over? Or is there no need to do that? Can I just drag the entire folder and replace time 3:50 on video or will I lose all my website content?

    Thanks!

    Hey!

If you haven’t modified the theme files there is nothing to worry about. Also, one thing you can do is rename your current “enfold” theme folder to something like “enfold_old” and then just drag the entire new “enfold” folder to /wp-content/themes, that way if something goes wrong you can easily revert it to its previous state.

    Best regards,
    Josue
