I have the same issue.
I upgraded Enfold to 4.6.3.1 then I’m unable to save any changes in the theme options, for example, changed the “Select Your Editor” to “Use WP Classic Editor”. I got:
“Saving didnt work!
Please reload the page and try again”I have checked the file permissions and PHP memory limit (1024M) and they seem to be OK. My WP version is 5.2.4 and PHP is 7.3.10
Can you please help me out? Thanks.

October 27, 2019 at 5:22 am #1151461Hi Luke,
Thanks for the login details, I get the same problem on my end. The server is responding with a 500 internal server error on this file:
https://www.your.site/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Could you try reaching out to your hosting provider to see if they can see why the server is responding in that way please?
Best regards,
RikardOctober 28, 2019 at 1:22 pm #1151728Hi Rikard,
Thank you very much for taking time to look at the issue!
Our hosting provider cannot tell why the server is responding 500 error. The Theme worked fine until WordPress and Enfold was upgraded to their latest versions, so I guess the cause is probably not on the server side.
Chrome debug console shows a little bit more about the 500 error:: it is relating admin-ajax.php 500 (Internal Server Error) failed to load resource. I Google it and found others had such issues and your company has helped out before. Can you resolve the issue for us? If you need access to Plesk of our Godaddy hosing, please let me know.
Thanks.a lot.
Luke

October 29, 2019 at 12:24 pm #1152036Hi,
Thank you for the update.
This is actually a common issue and is often cause by the mod_security module in the server. It blocks the file because of excessive requests — beyond of what is set in its rules. Please ask your hosting provider if the mod_sec rule is enabled in your site, and if it is indeed blocking the admin-ajax.php file.

IsmaelOctober 29, 2019 at 4:14 pm #1152089Hi Ismael,
Thanks for the help. Just checked with Godaddy. They told me “I just checked with my admin team and plesk we don’t have any mod_secure settings enabled it will be enabled only in Linux plan.”. We use Godaddy’s Windows IIS deluxe shared hosting. Please help.
Thanks.
LukeOctober 30, 2019 at 2:41 pm #1152356Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We created a test page and we are not encountering any issue whenever we update it. It is working properly. We did notice that the editor is set to Gutenberg instead of the Classic Editor, so it’s probably why we can’t reproduce the issue. Is it only happening when the Classic Editor is enabled? We added the link of the test page in the private field. Please check it.

IsmaelOctober 30, 2019 at 10:49 pm #1152542Hi Ismael,
Thanks for looking at the issue. Checked the test page. It is OK, but not sure it is relevant, The issue is still there, indeed it is:
Unable to save any changes in the theme options, for example, changed the “Select Your Editor” to “Use WP Classic Editor”. I got:
“Saving didnt work!
Please reload the page and try again”The issue can be produced by clicking ‘Enfold” on the left side bar of WordPress, change the “Select Your Editor” to “Use WP Classic Editor”, save the change.
Please help.
Thanks.
LukeNovember 3, 2019 at 10:16 pm #1153567Hi,
Thank you for sharing the details.
I checked your site and faced the same issue. A plugin conflict may be one of the reasons for this issue.
To find which plugin is causing the conflict please follow these steps:1. Go to your plugins page > Deactivate all active Plugins
2. Update WordPress and Enfold to the latest version if you have not.
3. Make sure all the plugins are updated.
4. If the problem does not persist when plugins are turned off, activate one plugin at a time and refresh until you find the plugin in conflict. We await the results of your plugin compatibility test.
Thanks for your cooperation :)

VinayNovember 5, 2019 at 2:03 am #1153838Hi Vinay,
Thanks for your help.
I tried to reproduce the issue today and found the issue is gone magically. There is not any change to the site itself. The only possibility is that GoDaddy’s host settings have changed (corrected) silently.

Enfold supports the latest version of WordPress, so you can go ahead and update to that if you’d like.
I see a 403 forbidden error when trying to save the theme options coming from this file:
https://your.site/wp/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Please try reaching out to your hosting provider and check why the server is not allowing that action.
Best regards,
Rikard -
