I have never used a forum, so I’m sure I’m either sending this to myself, my granny or the dog… but here goes.
I am a complete novice at this and am trying to design a website for the restaurant for whom I work. The website is called cafevincinq.com.
Generally speaking, I was getting on just fine, then today, I was about to add all my food and prices to the ‘Menu’ page – I just planned on overwriting the meals and costs already there… so it seemed a breeze. But then suddenly (without me touching anything – believe) most of the menu blocks just vanished!
So, I thought, ‘not to worry, I still have 2 x catalog blocks, I’ll just ‘clone’ them and use those.
All seemed fine. So, I ‘cloned’ and put them in the correct positions, saved it regularly, and then went to ‘view page’ and also the website itself. Each time I do this, the blocks just vanish. None of the headers do, just the ‘cloned’ blocks.
IT IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!!!!!!!
5 hours later and, if I was a smoker, I’d have got through 5 packs(!) I still cannot get this to work.
My deadline for this website was tomorrow and now I am just not going to make it. I thought all I had to do was populate my cocktail bar page, and type in/overwrite my menu page and I would be done. So… 5 hours later I am absolutely no further forward.
I have to go to bed now, I’m working first thing, but I am truly desperate for help, so, if you’re not my granny (and I know you’re not my dog because she’s on my knee) PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you for your response, please find below my access details.
If it is possible to correct the glitches AND restore the page to exactly as it was when I purchased it, that would be a dream. I am not worried about the header particularly.
Also… another problem seemed to be… (on the same page… all other pages worked flawlessly) if I used the ‘strong’ codes on header content (I copied and pasted to avoid mistakes) it ignored the command altogether.
I sent my access details to you twice so now I am concerned that I’m doing something wrong… so would you be a lamb and let me know you have received the login access please? Thank you sooooo much.

Now you’ve had a scurry about on the site – the blocks are staying put… HOORAH! I cannot thank you enough!
One final request from me though, please, please! Is there any way you can please restore the page to how it was when it was downloaded please, only the layout was perfect and I’m not sure how to get back there? Is this possible at please?

So, I just tried loading on my menu, and guess what… the blocks I put in have vanished again.
Can you please help… I’m feeling a little desperate and have to present this website to the partner on Thursday and I still have so much to do… I am sweating with anxiety to be honest.

So now I feel like I’m stalking you.
On my ‘About’ page, the photographs keep dropping off and vanishing… this has now happened 3 times. The day before yesterday 2 vanished, yesterday 1 dropped off, and today I think 3 have vanished.

Also, please elaborate on the changes you would like to make. Would you like to reset all the changes you made on the site and import Restaurant demo?

Regarding the changes, please do not change any pages except the ‘Menu’ page. If it as all possible to have just that one re loaded – so it is identical to how it is shown in the demo, that would be wonderful, but if that cannot be done without touching the other pages, then no, please don’t reload anything. I have worked so hard on the pages and would mostly have to throw myself in the sea if I lost anything else.
Not sure that my other message came through about the ‘About’ page too? But there is a problem there too. There is a ‘gallery’ block installed towards the bottom of the ‘About’ page, in which lots of photographs of food pop up. 3 times now, photographs have just vanished, leaving blank spots in the gallery.
Is it possible you could please sort this out too please?
If you could that would be wonderful – and I’d offer to marry you – but, honestly – that might have seemed like a good deal 20 years ago, but now… not so much!

We restored a revision of the menu page. Please be careful with html codes if you added some recently, make sure that you close them properly because they tend to break the layout of the builder. You can check it here: http://cafevincinq.com/menu/
Which of the images are missing? I added one image in the gallery and it seems fine. 21 images, intact.

Thank you so much for the restoration – but is there any chance you can restore is with the wines on too, as it was in the original please, so sorry to be such a pain!
Also, regarding the items in the missing gallery, I have just opened the site and although I can see you have added the wine picture – there are still 2 pictures missing and they were there originally… can you please check out this glitch please as this is the 3rd occasion this has happened. Also it’s weird that you can’t see the missing gaps…

Thank you for trying but it is STILL not working. This is driving me crazy.
Some of the ‘Special Headers’ I cannot pick up and move. I cannot drop color sections into some places at all. When I do manage to drop them down and put a ‘Special Header’ in there it disappears. Other blocks disappear too, the color box, the catalogue blocks and the special header blocks will not stay where they are. Within 3 or 4 ‘updates’ and ‘view page’ they disappear. I really don’t think this is anything I am doing wrong.
I have managed all the other pages without a problem at all and I understand what I am doing.
Please, please sort this page out, I am totally over my deadline, and I am still in the same position I was a few days age. Feeling desperate.

… Also… I have just tried to add color box and when you hover over the left hand side of the top bar, instead of seeing the ‘duplicate box icon’ and ‘edit’ icon, nothing shows at all, the text box comes up with edit and duplicate, but no visual icon shows.

Actually, I didn’t spell your name wrong… stupid, dim, brain of a housefly my Macbook Pro… decided I didn’t mean ‘Yigit’ an ‘corrected me’ and called you ‘Digit’ – which, although is cute, Yigit is actually cuter.
I threatened to throw a cup of coffee on my Mac if it ever did it again, so from now, your name will be spelled correctly. Thank goodness you are marrying me, not my Mac. Please reinstate honeymoon booking right away, otherwise I am hoping to take up alcoholism. I have 2 bottles of gin standing by. x
Incidentally… on the topic of this stressful puzzle… I have added color blocks, special headers and catalogs to the cocktail bar page with total ease… it seems that something is intrinsically wonky with the menu page (which I am learning to hate!)

There was not closed Strong tag on “Main Courses” title. I closed it. But older versions are missing in revisions. If you create your page now, there should not be any issues i believe. Can you please try now?
I tried saving few times last time and it did worked fine but as i said, now it should be fixed.

Things are all looking better thank you… but I just have one seemingly simple question…
On the media gallery in my ‘About’ page, when I hover over the masonry images, I have added the captions, which I really like, but when I hover my mouse over the pictures, it also shows the same description… this is a bit too much I think.
Is there any way of stopping the mouse describe the image and just be, well, a silent, polite, non-description making mouse please?
If not, I’ll have to kill it and buy a hamster.

Long time since we spoke! I’m not sure if this will reach you now, but I can’t seem to start a new thread?
I have just updated my enfold and wordpress site and now loads of items on the my pages are not showing. Pictures and vital items, like a ‘book your table now’ button on our restaurants website.
I AM IN A TOTAL PANIC – PLEASE HELP?
These items show all present and correct from the ‘back of house’ so they are still there, but they do not show on the actual website.

Please update Enfold to the latest version 3.5.2 – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ and flush browser cache and refresh your page a few times. That should solve the issues :)

I seem to have the white border line problem again on the tab ‘Menus | Food | Wine’ – on the brownish header entitled ‘WINE LIST
“Wine is sunlight, held together by water” Galileo’ there is an annoying white border at the top of that header, which I cannot get to go… any brilliant ideas please?Axx
