Dear sirs,
I Inherited a customer that has aparently the following template
Enfold – Responsive Multi-Purpose Theme
this customer has not upgraded nor updated his wordpress since 4 years, and now wants to upgrade to the latest wordpress.
Unfortunately doing the wordpress upgrade breaks several things and my wordpress contractor says that we must also upgrade your THEME but secuentially in order not to break anything else further.
Please be kind to provide me a quote for this kind of “incremental upgrade”
Thank you a lot

March 3, 2017 at 4:06 pm #755142Hi Javier!
I am afraid the only way to get full support and theme updates is by having access to a Themeforest account which was used to purchase the theme.
The easiest way would be to get in touch with your developer and ask him for the purchase code and an API key. That would allow you to create a forum account here (one that got access to more than the pre-sale question area) and would also allow you to update the theme from your backend.
If you cant get in touch with your developer for whatever reason, you can also try to contact Envato support and ask them if its possible for them to credit the purchase to a Themeforest account of your own: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
However this will probably only work if your developer already sent you a payment receipt or something similar for the purchase.Last option would be to create a themeforest account of your own and use it to re-purchase the theme.
I hope one of the first two options works out for you, but unfortunately we can’t help until we have a valid verification that the theme was purchased properly. This is necessary for us, since there are quite a few people out there who don’t buy the theme on themeforest and instead download it for free on illegal file sharing sites and then even have the audacity to ask us for support.
Sorry for that!
Cheers!

Thank you a lot for your great help

You can simply update the theme to the latest version if you have an access to the account which was used to purchase Enfold. If you do not, you can have an access by repurchasing the theme.
We can also provide you older versions of the theme however not all since there has been many updates since the version you are currently using.

YigitMarch 3, 2017 at 5:00 pm #755188Javier GalvezGuestMy actual problem is that the developer that provided the site (to my actual customer) has done some aditional customizations, that (when I upgraded automatically thru plesk auto update) were totally wiped out and destroyed the site.
So, another developer told me that to keep the old programming I should upgrade sequentially not straight to the latest.
If you say so, I’ll go ahead and buy the latest version and patch it to the actual site.
I’m really sad to hear that there is also piracy on this stuff , I feel that the price is reasonable so I’ll go ahead and buy it.
btw: its for the following site: http://www.anesapa.org

March 3, 2017 at 5:12 pm #755207Hey Javier,
I can see that previous developer created a child theme and Enfold version is 2.9.1. We can send you that version so you can compare the differences to see if there are any changes made on parent theme which are not applied on child theme. In that case, updating the theme should not break anything.
If they have made any changes on header.php file on child theme, now they should be applied in enfold/includes/helper-main-menu.php file. Also, WordPress required ID’s for widget areas and Enfold provides it however updating the theme may reset your widget areas.
I am sorry, that was not my intention.
My initial response is a canned response we send to users who uses the theme but do not have an access to their purchase code. We never ask users to purchase a license if they already have one and inform them about ways how they can retrieve their purchase code without needing to purchase a license but for that unfortunately you should have an access to ThemeForest account. Due to our agreement with Envato/ThemeForest, we are not allowed to sell/distribute theme directly.Regards,
