I was checking all elements of a site we have been developing today and noticed that the three pages that have a post-slider element installed have stopped displaying preview content. Last time I looked at these three pages content was displayed correctly.

The other thing I noticed was the bottom menu bar had crept up and was partially covering the portfolio items on this page. I fixed this by adding some whitespace below this element but can’t get to the bottom of why this occurred.

Any idea what might have caused this to happen?

    Hey littlebookpress,

Do you have auto update on? Did you update anything? Could you please give us a link to your website, we need more context to be able to help you.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi Victoria

Auto update is not turned on.

I did update many elements of the site after testing all on the staging site first. But I went back and checked – the post-solder element is still working fine on the staging site. I can’t think of any changes I have made to the main site that I didn’t do on the staging site other than adding additional content and updating licensed plugins (Australia Post Pro for example) that I can’t update on the staging site. The only other difference I can think of is the order which the updates were done in – the staging site was built on a WP 4.8 ‘shell’ using a backup of the main site whereas the mainsite had a theme update prior to doing the WP update to 4.8

The areas I have used layer-slider are on the main page -‘Featured Articles’, the Illustrator and Author pages for featured author / illustrator.

It was on the main page that bottom banner had crept up to partially cover the Portfolio content.

https://staging.littlebookpress.com.au/ (I am not sure that you will be able to access this one though as the subdomain has no DNS entry – I just have a modified hosts file on the system I use for editing)

I will add the login details in the private section. Oh and the site has the under construction plugin running.

Thanks for your help with this.

    Hi Victoria

I just noticed that the Portfolio elements have stopped displaying as well. The Portfolio preview items are showing correctly but if you go into each item there is not visual content. Text remains is still there though.

Not sure what is going on….

    Hi,

Thanks for the login details. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.1.1) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

Please make sure to only update your staging site in case you should run into any problems with the update.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Sure Rikard I will update the staging site. As mentioned above though the staging site does not have the issues that I am seeing on the primary site so I won’t be able to tell if the update is a ‘fix’ for the problem. I guess atleast we will know if causes some other unforseen issues.

Update done – the elements in question are still displaying correctly on the staging site.

I noticed that in addition to the licensed Australia Post plugin mentioned above, it looks like I installed two updates on the pimary site without first doing these on the staging site – Under Construction and Vault Press.

    Hi littlebookpress,

A link in the menu had an extra symbol and so it was breaking JavaScript. Seems to be working now. Please check.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi Victoria

I’m so sorry – that sounds like it was an error on my part. Everything seems to be working fine now.

    Thankyou very much.

    Hi,

Glad that it’s fixed. Thanks for using Enfold :)

    Best regards,
