    I have been using an older version of Enfold on a site for some time, that a previous administrator installed. I wanted to update Enfold, so I installed and activated Enfold child theme on the site and all appears to be working fine. I then purchased a current version of Enfold and registered it via the dashboard without a problem. However there is no ”update” notice in the dashboard Update, Appearance > Theme or Enfold child > Theme Update areas. In the Theme Update area it says I am running the latest version 4.6.3.1. Based on the Enfold changelog, I understand there is a more recent version available (4.9). If this is the case, can you please explain how I update the Enfold parent theme to the most recent version?

    Hey ljenk,

    Can you try to install Envato Market plugin: https://www.envato.com/lp/market-plugin/ ? and update Enfold using this plugin.
    Envato private token will be needed to make the update, if you haven’t generated a private token yet, then please follow the instructions in: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#how-to-generate-a-envato-personal-token

    Hi Nikko,
    Thanks for your reply. I followed your suggestion and installed Envato Market plugin and it did upload the latest version (4.9) of Enfold with an ”update” notice. I attempted to update, but the update failed. The error message said it was because the server timed out. As a result the entire site stopped working – nothing but a blank page when viewing the site URL.

    I fixed the site by:
    – renaming the new version of Enfold (extracted Enfold folder) that I downloaded from Envato to Enfold-new
    – manually uploading this folder to the server via FTP
    – renaming the original Enfold folder on the server to Enfold-old
    – renaming the new uploaded Enfold-new folder to Enfold
    – deleting the Enfold-old folder

    The site then started working again. I haven’t detected any problems with it so far.
