Hi,
A customer of mine got in touch to say that her website isn’t display properly, and upon having a look at it, only the header was displaying.
The web hosting package recently updated to PHP7.3 and so I assumed it’ll be a case of WordPress being out of date.
I’ve since updated to WP 5.2.1 but it didn’t fix the site.
In the page editor, I cannot make any changes to the current pages at all. The Avia editor has a spinning loading icon and I cannot switch to the default editor at all.
I’ve since put the theme into debug mode and copied the layout code into a new page, but the editor is still not working, the code is displayed as white text.
I’ve installed Classic editor, but this hasn’t fixed the error and I’ve also installed the latest version of Enfold as downloaded from themeforest, but uploading the theme via FTP causes the entire site to crash.
I cannot find a solution to this problem and have tried everything I’ve found in your support section from people with similar issues.
Can someone help me out please?
Many thanks

Can you please check server log for error?
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?
Best regards,

Thanks for your reply. I cannot check the server log from where I am currently, but I’ll take a look this evening as see if there’s anything in there.
I’ll attached temp admin access below. Many thanks
NathanJune 4, 2019 at 5:27 pm #1107186Hi Nathan,
Thanks for giving us admin access, however you’re still using Enfold 3.8 which is already outdated.
That version is still okay if your using WordPress 4.x but since the major update to WordPress 5.x a lot of codes/functions have deprecated which are used in Enfold 3.8.
Please update to the latest version of Enfold (4.5.7) and the problem should be fixed.Best regards,
NikkoJune 4, 2019 at 5:53 pm #1107194Hi Nikko,
As per my original message, I have tried to update to the latest version of Enfold after everything else has been upgraded – WordPress, PHP etc, but doing so caused the entire website to crash and return an “Error establishing a database connection” error.
Thanks
NathanJune 5, 2019 at 5:45 am #1107352Hi Nathan,
We can help you out with updating if you include FTP login details as well along with a verification that you have backups of the site in case something should go wrong. Also, would you be able to downgrade your PHP version to 7.1 or 7.2 in case the problem should be the PHP version?
Best regards,
RikardJune 5, 2019 at 10:12 pm #1107753Hi Rikard,
I’ve rolled back the php to version 7.2 which is as far back as my hosting company will allow.
I’ll leave it for 24 hours to propagate across and will try uploading the new theme files via FTP myself tomorrow afternoon.
Please keep this ticket open, I’ll let you know whether I’m successful or not. Many thanks

RikardJune 6, 2019 at 11:19 pm #1108101Hi,
I’ve rolled back the php and did a fresh install of Enfold and Enfold child and this has brought everything back up and working now.
Thanks for your help!
