Hello from Nuremberg,
is there a way to use the same Portfolio Entries across every site of a Multisite Installation?
Meaning: we set up an Enfold-based Master-Page for the Multisite with a set of Portfolio Entries. Then we duplicate this Master-Page, change the Look and Feel for a different customer – but still use the original Portfolio Entries from the Master-Site. So all the Portfolio Entries across every site in our Multisite-“Universe” would be the same and could be edited just by editing the Master-Page’s Portfolio Entries.
Is this possible? And if “yes” – how to do it?
Your help would be very much appreciated!
Kind regards, Michael

There is no dedicated functionality like that in the theme unfortunately, but maybe you could simply try to export and import to the other site?

The thing is: if we end up with one Master-Page and – say – 10 Customer-Pages, each change of the Portfolio Entries would have to be done 10 times over. I would really like to have ONE central database of Portfolio Entries, which all of the Multisite-Clones just use or kind of “import” automatically. I thought about something like changing the URL just for Portfolio Entries. Or changing the database table just for Portfolio Entries. So they all could use the same pool of Portfolio Entries.
Of course we could do it with iFrames – but iFrames are NEVER a good solution ;)
Kind regards,

You could have all of your portfolio items in one database and write a custom connector just for the portfolio items, the one that connects to the database with those items and pulls them for any place necessary, or you could use WordPress REST API, make and endpoint in one website and load portfolio items to any location you need.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

Your plan of “writing a custom connector for the portfolio items” sounds like the perfect solutions for our problem – but unfortunately I have absolutely no idea how to do this ;) Could you assist me in building this – or should I google my way through?
Your help would be very much appreciated :)

I think the better option is using REST API to get portfolio items for all websites. In any case, this kind of functionality requires a developer knowledge and experience and if you don’t have those, you might want to consider hiring a freelancer to do it for you.
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
