The Enfold built-in counter that works with the plugin Events Calendar is not working with updated versions of that plugin. On the home page the counter stopped displaying after I updated to a new version of Events Calendar. The counter only seems to work with v.4.6.9 of the Event Calendar and wondering if this is something on my end or a minor issue with the theme.
Here is screen grab where issue occurs (Note, it is not broken currently as the plugin is set to the older version):
https://screencast.com/t/NG2sEtz7gdYou can try updating the plugin on the dev version of the site to see how the error occurs on the home page. Added rollback plugin so you can restore to previous versions as needed to help with troubleshooting.
Look forward to your thoughts.

November 9, 2019 at 11:46 am #1155200Hey CampCarysbrook,
Sorry for the late reply, I tried to login to your dev site, but the access is not admin so I can’t see any settings or backend of the page. Please adjust to admin.Best regards,

This is the same access I provided for another issue. You just need to use the initial password to access the dev site then use the second set to access the admin account I created for you. (This applies only to the dev site) You should have admin access to the live site)Brett
November 14, 2019 at 1:00 pm #1156764Hi,
Thank you, I checked again, the ftp access works, and the dev & live sites allow me into WordPress, but they are not admin access, please see the screenshot in Private Content area.
I would prefer to investigate and test within the dev site, please check.Best regards,

Ugh… my apologies! Have updated your user role on both the dev and live sites. Let me know if you still have issues accessing.Brett
November 16, 2019 at 5:47 pm #1157515Hi,
Thank you, I tested the event countdown element on my localhost with the latest version and it works correctly.
I took a look at your event countdown element and found an error in it, it didn’t have the event taxonomies option because your events didn’t have any categories so I added one as a test and I also disabled your plugins to see if there was a conflict, but the error continued, without any error messages in the console. I then downloaded your theme and event calendar plugin to my localhost believing there may be a corrupt file, but both worked correctly on my localhost.
I looked at your functions.php for custom scripts but found none.So I was unable to discover what this cause was, I will ask the rest of the team to take a look, please leave the plugins disabled on your dev site so the team can check quickly without having to disable.
Best regards,
MikeNovember 25, 2019 at 1:07 am #1159730Mike,
Thanks for the summary. Did you happen to get any additional information from your team about any corrupt files?
Look forward to hearing from you.Brett
November 25, 2019 at 1:04 pm #1159849Hi,
Sorry, I have not heard back on any solutions yet, not being able to reproduce on our servers makes it tricky.
What web host are you using? Is this a “managed WordPress” hosting? Web hosts have different “security” settings, perhaps this is relevant.
Thank you for your patience.Best regards,

Know it has been a while regarding this bug, but recent updates to both theme and Event Calendar still have not addressed issue. Was hoping you had found out something that could help. Still unable to update The Events Calendar from 4.9.6 to latest version 5.0.3.1. Even just trying to update to 4.9.8 breaks the Enfold Event Counter.Still holding out hope for “cure”…

April 16, 2020 at 1:51 pm #1204425Hi,
I tested with updated theme and plugin, and the countdown element is working correctly for me, I see that you are using Enfold v4.6.3.1, please try updating.
Note that you will need to enter the token at Enfold Theme Options > Theme Update > Enter a valid Envato private token. You can read more here.Best regards,

Thanks. Sorry for the confusion, but the production site does have Envato theme updater installed and the latest Enfold version is installed. (4.7.4)
See screengrab from production site.

https://screencast.com/t/l4B2QeBDThis is quite the vexing bug, isn’t it? Will roll back to version 4.9.6 so client can still have counter visible. But racking my brain as to where the issue is?
Any other ideas? Believe you still have access to both staging and production. If not let me know and i will resend you new credentials.Look forward to hearing from you.

April 18, 2020 at 4:13 pm #1204980Hi,
Thanks, I tried matching your PHP version “7.2.24” on my localhost to see if I could reproduce the error, but this didn’t help. But in case they are not the same, can you try updating your PHP? I uploaded a current version of Enfold, your old version is named “enfold-old”.
I also tested PHP version “7.2.24” on a live server to ensure that my localhost was not the error. Is the dev site a copy of your live site, or was the live site a copy of the dev site? How did you copy the site, an option in your cPanel or a plugin?Best regards,
MikeApril 22, 2020 at 6:28 am #1206054Mike
Thanks for responding. Checked C-Panel and we are running 7.2. See screen grab: https://screencast.com/t/o8nLefb6sKM
Originally, made a dev copy of the production site with the outdated Coherence theme through C-Panel (Softaculous) – but that old theme did not work with PHP 7.2 so for updating the site design, can’t remember if I first had to install Enfold and then update the PHP or updated the PHP first then installed Enfold after. See screen grab: https://screencast.com/t/cNauoVaWm7d0Hope that helps. With regard to installing the updated Enfold theme, switched to the new version, tried to update Events Calendar again and it is still not working. But I suspected that as the production site is already using Enfold 4.74 and counter is still not working. See screen grab from production site: https://screencast.com/t/DOClFLSyyFUV
Is it possible, the site is hanging on to some legacy stuff from the original Coherence theme? In that theme we had added a custom counter, but stopped using because of the built in Enfold version.
Hope all this helps.
